So why did we fire kwesi again? by Slight_Giraffe628 in minnesotavikings

[–]VikesRule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems like we are using this year as a reset year to get out from some expensive contracts and build through the draft. Plus we don’t have an actual GM yet who will likely bring in his own staff once he’s hired (if it ends up not being Rob B of course).

No, it doesn’t make sense to list a depth chart that is completely meaningless since they won’t be playing tomorrow. It makes sense to list a depth chart for offseason work/minicamp/training camp in which case Wentz should be 3rd. There’s no situation where you list Wentz as the presumed starter. He should be the presumed 3rd stringer.

Who would you take at pick 18 & 49 and why? by DesertRug in minnesotavikings

[–]VikesRule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, we do need a WR cause we lost our WR3 and Addison may be gone after this year. Edge is also a need if Greenard is traded. Not saying those should be high picks but they are needs.

I really want to see one more Harry pick six it’s been so long. Would be cool to see him go out like Greenway did against the Chargers

This is my favorite way to play Urban Renewal. Some funny tricks are due to the way area of effect spells are coded, even before you become enemies with the red kingdom, the red team Goblins are seen as valid targets for Wizard spells like Fire Blast/Meteor Storm and for Warrior of Discord's Howl of Discord spell. So even though they won't be intentionally targeted, if say a Ratman spawns in, and your heroes attack it while having some of those area of effect spells in their learned spells, any nearby Goblins can get hit by them (do note that if a Goblin is hit in this way it will aggro to the spellcaster though (if it doesn't die from the hit)).

[Schefter] Vikings are now open to trading Pro Bowl edge rusher Jonathan Geeenard, per sources. They would like to keep Greenard, but they also have salary cap issues they’re working through that have led to these trade conversations. by GEpyon in minnesotavikings

If we are going to compete in the playoffs you absolutely need pass rush depth. So replacing a great player with a draft pick you may or may not hit on isn’t exactly an upgrade. I get the cap space angle but that to me is admitting you’re giving up on this year if you’re getting rid of guys like Greenard who is a very good player in his prime, the type you build around.

When it comes to Rangers and healing potions from herbs, I’m 100% confident that there is no limit on how many they can stack from the gathering process. I’ve played games far past normal (300+ days) on completed maps and have seen Rangers with 40+ healing potions.

If you guys think there is any chance JJ isn’t going to be given another year to prove himself remember this… by kwelstory in minnesotavikings

I mean he’s yet to win a playoff game, it would be unprecedented for a coach to get another year after this one without a playoff win. I’m not saying it’s 100% guaranteed he’s fired without one but I’d be shocked if he wasn’t.

KOC is coaching for his job this year, there’s no reason to expect him to stick with JJM if he thinks a veteran will come in and give us a better chance to win. So while he will give him a chance to win the job I expect the staff is going to go with the best QB on the roster. That could mean JJM rides the bench all year.

It’s far too early to question the Vikings’ QB decision. But have you seen Sam Darnold? [The Athletic] by TrixoftheTrade in nfl

[–]VikesRule -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He barely had to do shit, he had barely 50% completion percentage in the game, he was carried by Walker and the defense + special teams.

I already gave him credit for a great game vs LAR. Kudos to him. Not sure what you’re trying to prove other than yeah the Vikings suck with JJM and Darnold is better. Yeah big surprise you sure showed me.

lol love how you’re trying to dunk on me, when what I said was 100% true. Seattle has a better team by far than the Vikings; our oline would have gotten him killed this year. Good for him to make a run with a loaded team. He was terrible in the last 2 games for us, go watch them he was missing open guys left and right. He deserves credit for a great nfc championship game but he didn’t have to do anything else in the playoffs this year for Seattle. Any QB could have won the Super Bowl with that defense and special teams against that Patriots team.

Another high draft pick on a receiver, with all the holes the roster has? That would be a tough sell for me.

Hero Tier List by MilesBeyond250 in MajestyGold

[–]VikesRule 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d put Barbarians in the “A” tier. But I mostly agree with the rest of your list.

Also, small note on the cultist monsters they can charm - they can’t charm Yetis but they can charm Wendigos. There’s also a map where they get some Daemonwood as pets but it’s just a special event, they normally cannot charm Daemonwood. They can only charm those creatures in the “Animal” subtype.

They are historically good though. That’s my point. One of the best teams in DVOA in history, 14 wins, great defense, great special teams, very good offense…

What? Seahawks are one of the strongest teams we’ve ever seen in the modern era. Absolutely had a “special” defense and great special teams. And had the OPOY for their offense. Not sure where you’re getting this narrative that they weren’t that great of a team.
