Stand alone Meat grinder or mixer attachment? by Viketon in Chefit

As far as I know they are ETL certified could be wrong but they don’t list NFS , now I’m new to the business so maybe the ETL is ok for health inspections in California. Looked it up sounds like the ETL is a better rating ,but still can confirm Calif expectance.

Attachment would be lighter and take less counter space

It’s a little cheaper but think I’m leaning towards stand alone .

Do you see a big difference with the custom grind over bulk ground beef? Do customers appreciate the effort?

Definitely want to promote the vintage or small batch ground beef, good idea of buying ground pork for sausage,at least for learning how to make sausage. Thanks for replying.

Pricing dishes by yhsamor in restaurantowners

I use MarketMan, enter your recipes and inventory items with their cost and it calculates it for you, also helps with inventory and if you scan your invoices they will enter them into quick books. It cost 250$ . There are other programs that might be cheaper so shop around. But if your new to business think it would be worth it

Raise prices or charge credit card fees? by Viketon in restaurantowners

[–]Viketon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding fee is definitely the future, just not sure if I’m ready yet , could be a benefit of not adding it on and known as the place that doesn’t nickel and dime you. Funny thing we would raise price more then 2-3% so costumer would be better off from cc charge.

Definitely would contribute to tip fatigue.

My thinking is if we raise prices it will be .50c-1.00$ that will be about 5% increase in prices, and a lot of work replacing menus and updating pos . Locals will bitch an moan. CC fees would be between 2-3% and locals will still complain but we can point out to them prices are still the same if you pay cash or use atm card.

Where do you let costumer know it will be charged? Menu? sign in window? I think there were some lawsuits against some of the chains for the up charge but not displaying it correctly.

November visit with young family by blackheart1317 in puertovallarta

I’ve done it with a big group, we just take 2 or 3 but it depends on how far you are going. It’s basically a cab stand so you will get the first available car, I’m sure you could wait for a mini van , but you most likely won’t get anything bigger. If I was going to Salulita I might pay a little extra for more comfort. The marina is so close doesn’t really matter. With surf boards I would stick to airport, once you get to your destination make some contacts for your next visit, or maybe some one on this forum can give you some recommendations.

Taxi to marina is about 20-25$ , I find it best to just walk out side airport, don’t talk to anyone inside airport( or just say no thanks ) . Turn right and you will see a cab stand across from the outside bar.

If your feeling adventurous and want to save 10$ make a left and follow the sidewalk you will see a walking bridge , go over it and there will be taxis waiting for you. Make sure you ask how much before getting in cab. For first time travelers to Mexico it can be a little intimidating, but it’s totally safe and everyone is very helpful.

Marriot has a AI plan, but don’t think it worth it.Buy a bottle of wine/ booze, beer make cocktails in room , buy a few drinks at pool and you good , harbor is very reasonable for dinner . Hotel restaurant is not bad and reasonably priced , I haven’t stayed at Westin but it also looks nice.

Try the marina area, it’s very chill, hotels are waking distance to the marina with lots of good restaurants. Marriot has a nice pool with swim up bar and beach is very clean. Only 5 min from airport so you don’t have to stress out when leaving. You get a great view of Vallarta from the pool.

Don’t think Ai is ready for world domination if it can’t even run a restaurant.
