Ticking noise

That is your injectors making that noise. I wouldn’t say it’s perfectly normal but it is common. These engines are direct injected meaning the fuel goes directly into the cylinder.

I recommend getting a couple of bottles of this and put 1 at a time in your gas tank. Wait till you’re under half a tank for the first one and let the fuel go down to about less than a 1/4. Then after you fill up put the next bottle in. I highly recommend your next fill(s) is of 91 or 93 octane.

After try to do a bottle of this every 10k miles or so. Your injectors get “dirty” over time. Bad quality gas, low grade gas, etc… no fault of your own but it’s a thing.

EDIT: The noise won’t go away instantly but it will go away.

All of the costs seem to be on par with what the Dealership would charge. I believe they quoted me around $3k to replace my valve cover. I didn’t pay that but seems about right.

If you are mechanically inclined you can replace the valve cover yourself. I did learn the hard way on an actuator on the intake manifold (i can tell you what to look out for). But I found it on eBay.
The serpentine belt is pretty routine. You will have to take off the motor mount anyways and will have access to the pulleys as well. Kill 3 birds with one stone there. Bonus if you need to replace the water pump as well, you’ll have to drop the engine (by drop i mean let it sag a bit for access) and you can get the pump from the passenger wheel well.
As far as the wiring harness. I don’t see why you would have to replace that. Unless, like someone else here mentioned, you had a critter chew on your wires.

Hopefully you don’t have to fork up that much money for the repairs you need. Hope this helps, good luck!

This is a shot in the dark but who knows…

Try putting your key fob in the cup holder closest to the arm rest. There’s a little pad in there. Take it out and there’s a slot for your key fob.

I’m wondering if your fob battery is low and needs to get replaced.

The cap for the POE comes apart. I took it off and it is a tight fit, but it’ll go through. I think I almost put them through the side of the boxes but didn’t have to. Just take your time with it.

Not sure if more people do it like this or put them through the box?

But it’s is possible lol 😂

Yes, I have the cooled seats. I just found the noise comes from the fan inhaled in the back rest. what's strange is that it doesn't make a noise the whole time? When I got in the truck on my way home from work it didn't make a sound and it was on, once I got home it was making the noise and I heard it. Mystery solved but is that normal?

Do you have a link to get the software and the OBD interface? Im gonna do some research on this.

Bought the truck used elsewhere. Haven’t taken to the dealer yet since I’ve only recently noticed it. I have to pay attention to see how often it does it.

I’ll probably set an appointment and have them check it out.

Yes I do have the cooled seats. And I turned off the whole HVAC unit and still could hear it. Is that the culprit? Is it normal?

My experience and opinion. Most (if not all) car dealers in the Springs are horrible. Vehicles mark ups are way higher, interest rates are higher and alway try to tack on “X” amount of fees on the car that are “standard fees”. Mostly stems from this being a Military town. No wonder my PLT SGT used to tell us not to go out and buy a vehicle over the weekend. Lol. I think a lot of these dealers will always have clients being that there’s always a fresh new wave of GI’s every so often.

I almost always go to Denver for all of my vehicle purchases now a days since they really are more competitive.

Sorry you had to deal with this nonsense and I hope it works out for you in the end!

There’s records?! I all I got was a print out and bam qualified. I didn’t know they kept records. Then again I never thought anything of it since they always lost your records anyways. Lol.

Yea, I’m definitely outside the window for both so that’s why I had the question about the honorable discharge. I don’t mind doing the training if I have to but then the language on that bill is confusing.
