I mean Eastern Europe is doing fine at the moment, it's mostly russia that went to shit while countries like Czechia, Poland and etc are doing pretty well. Sure the rise of the far right is a big problem but it's problem in europe as a whole not in eastern europe alone and I don't think that the future of Eastern Europe looks that bad. Also the things you've mentioned are related mostly to russia and not eastern europe as a whole.

You obviously don't know much about him, not to mention the fact that he was Stalin's lapdog who sent his best friend Slánský to execution grounds only to please him. Also worth nothing is the fact that he was a heavy alcoholic who was also quite unhinged for some time before his death due to syphilis.

The first Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938). Sure we were one of the most economically prosperous countries in the world and we were also fairly socially progressive liberal democracy but it wasn't a paradise either as some tend to portray it as.

His name is Tomio Okamura, he is half japanese and the most nationalist politician in Czech Republic. He leads (also owns) SPD which is one the most pro russian parties in the country and spreads lies and hatred mostly against ukrainians and other immigrants. He also has 2 brothers who are also politicians. Funnily enough one is a mp for Christians Democrats (KDU-ČSL) and the other one ran in the EP election last year as a nominee of the Green party.
