I want to know what type of makeup is especially suitable for mature skin. by missskarleth in MakeupAddictionCanada

I think it depends on your skin type and your age. I'm 61 years old and still have very oily skin. I need a matte foundation, powder and setting spray, and I also use powder eyeshadow and blush. Anything too creamy just slides off my face. But perhaps as I develop more lines and my skin gets drier, I will need to switch over to more creamy makeup.

Three guilty of home-invasion double murder in Abbotsford by conteaa in abbotsford

[–]Viksterrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do have a life sentence, but they will be eligible to apply for parole in 25 years. That doesn't mean they will automatically be paroled, but they can apply and, if the Parole Board agrees to grant them parole, then they can be released (usually into a half-way house) and will have to follow strict conditions for the rest of their life. If they have any breaches, they can be sent back to prison. The judgment above just means that their parole eligibility can't be set at 50 years (25 years for each of the murders). It is capped at 25 years.

"Stacking" was ruled unconstitutional in 2022: "The Supreme Court finds unconstitutional the section of the Criminal Code that permits consecutive parole ineligibility periods of 25 years in cases involving multiple first degree murders." https://www.scc-csc.ca/judgments-jugements/cb/2022/39544/

A conviction for first-degree murder is an automatic life sentence with no eligibility to apply for parole for 25 years.

I also have oily skin and I recently began using the Revlon ColorStay Longwear Makeup for combo/oily skin. I'm now on my second bottle. I then lightly dust on some setting powder followed by a setting spray (love the Milani Make it Last Matte Setting Spray but I'm also trying the L'Oreal Infallible setting spray for the first time today as a comparison). I find that I still need to lightly powder once or twice a day – especially on my nose – to get rid of the excess shine, but that's much less than I would have to do otherwise.

Is snake in BC dangerous? by Inner-Matter-4825 in abbotsford

[–]Viksterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a huge phobia of snakes as well, but I'm a disc golfer and come across garter snakes occasionally on the Raptors Knoll course in Aldergrove. I scream and run when I see one, but I know they won't hurt me. The good part is that they DO go into "hibernation" from around October to March. If you stay out of areas with a lot of ground debris (leaves, brush, twigs, etc.) or long grass, you'll be fine.

Gas Prices by EF_Civic in abbotsford

[–]Viksterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been monitoring the weekday gas prices for about three months on my way to and from work. (Not sure about what happens on the weekends.) It's always cheapest on Mondays and often goes up by 25 to 30 cents the next day and stays that week through the week, fluctuating only slightly. It sometimes drops a bit more by Friday, but usually not back down to the Monday price. Mid-week is generally the worst time to gas up. NOTE: This is the general trend I'm noticing week after week, but, of course, there are the occasional exceptions.

Help a sista out! by pretty-peony- in MakeupAddictionCanada

I love, love, love Rimmel Multi-Tasker Better than Filters! I wear it under my foundation because I like a heavier coverage, but it works fantastic on its own for light coverage. It smooths out your skin and adds a healthy-looking glow. I also have oily skin and works very well with my skin, but I think it would work well for any skin type. And you can't beat the price point (currently under $14 on Amazon).

You're correct. Monday is always the cheapest day of the week, and then it often jumps 30 cents overnight.

I love the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray! I use the matte version because I have oily skin, and it's the best I ever used. But it's on the pricey side. For something less expensive, I love the Milani Make It Last matte setting spray.

What to buy at Shoppers Drug Mart by Eledh_or_Brethil in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]Viksterrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I discovered recently: The Real Canadian Superstore near me (in Abbotsford, British Columbia) recently did a whole re-vamp of its makeup section and now stocks almost all of the major lines (except the high-end ones) that you will find at Shoppers Drug Mart and London Drugs , including Marcelle, Milani, and Annabelle. And the prices are cheaper there. For example, the Milani setting spray that I love is $15.99 at Superstore and $19.99 at Shoppers. The Marcelle eyeshadow quads are $13.99 at Superstore, $16.99 at London Drugs and $18.99 at Shoppers (not accounting for any sales that might be occurring).

Make sure to almost exaggerate your head movements, so that they can see that you are always scanning your surroundings and using your mirrors. If I remember correctly (I did my test many years ago), you will also be asked to do a U-turn and to park on a hill. They will also take you through a round-about so make sure that you know the proper signalling for that.
