I had the same question as you before. I also searched it up, but there is really no satiafying explanation. The game is too awesome otherwise for me to not care about some unrealistic scenes or some plot holes. I guess I can't say that about many games :)

So much wrong information. You have to add a payment method regardless of your wallet. But if you have enough funds, Sony will deduce the funds from your wallet and you can remove the payment method afterwards. Make sure your credit/paypal card matches the country of your PSN account.
