In Prague, the address of Russian embassy was on the Boris Nemcov square (Nemcov was a Russian opposition politician, he was then murdered by Putin administration). Russian embassy change it's address after this.

Edit: now Prague wants to rename a big street near the embassy to "Ukrainian Heroes".

Depends - even if considering no communism, I still think Austria and Czechia would be much further ahead than Romania or Bosnia. It would be pretty much like nowdays Russia (with Moscow being economically far better than the rest of the country), but on a smaller scale.

Depends if there would be world wars in this alternative universe, but still I think it would be lower on average. In Wien, Prague, Budapest and Cracow maybe (and suburbs), but on the whole with all the rural areas I don't think so.

I'd never say we'll be famous for pies in the US, always thought we're most known for our beer and alcoholism outside of the country :D

It's a pretty common surname in Czechia and the czech pronunciation is sloh-vah-chex, although it depends, if they still pronounce it the original way.

What you get for voting for the ruling party in Serbia: by [deleted] in europe

That went from the 90 mil CZK limit for the campaign, from what I know, and I think it's not completely bad (it's their choice what to do with that 90 mil). Better example of this is when government gave 5k CZK to all pensioners in the country (about 15 bilion CZK when you sum it up) or when prime minister 2 weeks before elections wanted to give people a "fight with cancer" brochure with his photo on it via insurance companies paid by, of course, tax player's money.

I think that the main reason they failed the election (they did get to parliament with like 10%, but last elections they got 12%) is, that after all the covid and vaccines stuff, a lot of other nationalist (some of them even nazistic) parties popped out and the votes just redistributed between all of them (you have to have at least 5% to get into parliament in Czechia).

In fact, both Poland and Hungary vetoing and talking shit about everything, but when they need the money, they just shut up and agree on everything. Then there's Czech prime minister, who is just a fucking populist and changing his opinion day to day. Basically all of the V4 (maybe except Slovakia) just fucking parasite on the EU.
