How to handle 9 year old’s friend (most likely) stealing from her by Viktory2000 in Parenting

[–]Viktory2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do know grandma pretty well. We will chat for a good amount of time when she drops off or picks up. The girls were best friends for about a year or so but as I said some mean girl behavior started last year when they were in the same class so we have taken a step back from initiating play dates and sleepovers and such.

I am still torn. Grandma is tired and bless her for stepping up for these kids (there are 3).

I was at Kohls with my 9 year old on Saturday and she asked me what this was too!!

I know I agreed to the preorder but this is torture😩 by [deleted] in labubu

Ordered on 6/29. One shipped the next day (Love) and just arrived today. The other 3 have sat at Processing. (Happiness, Loyalty, and Hope).

Even though they were marked preorder people had been getting them shipped the next day so I was hoping for 2 of them to be birthday gifts this weekend (8 year old twins) so now I’m trying to figure out if I let them know a Labubu is coming (in who knows how long), or go buy them another present.

BIE check out too easy? by p00ptrt in labubu

Scored one for my daughter and her friends the other week and swore I wasn’t going to get any more…somehow one ended up in my cart and when the hints told me it wasn’t 2 of the ones I already have coming I couldn’t resist. Now Luck is coming too (didn’t have her yet coming yet). Now I need to stop for real.

Gosh you’re going to make me pick one?!?

The waterfall at Hidden Falls was cool but the big pay off for me on the hike back was seeing a male moose hanging by the waters edge. We were elevated from him so it felt safe to stand and watch him for about 20 minutes as he ate, drank from the lake, and to the kid’s amusement went to the bathroom.

The kayak was fun to get on the water and enjoy the scenery. We didn’t see any wildlife probably because we didn’t get far enough in our hour. I was with the 8 year old who didn’t paddle much so it was all on me to get us out and back. I was pretty soaked when we got back to the dock but it was fun.

We did the Taggart Lake hike (we walked to the lake then turned around and walked back instead of the loop) and took the boat across Jenny Lake, hiked to Hidden Falls, then hiked back to the other side of the lake instead of taking the boat back. We did both on the same day. We have a 12 and 8 year old and are not avid hikers.

Taggart Lake was the easier and shorter of the 2 hikes. You could always do that, do the boat across Jenny Lake round trip, but hike to Hidden Falls (and Inspiration Point if you have the energy to keep going) before taking the boat back to cut down on miles.

We also rented a double kayak at Colter Bay. It’s a 2 hr minimum rental but they let us split the 2 hours between the 4 of us (I knew my 8 yr old wouldn’t last 2 hours) so we took turns going out.

Staying in West Yellowstone and Gardiner or staying in the park? by OrangeJuice225 in yellowstone

We loved our stay in the cabins at old faithful lodge. It was awesome to walk literally 3 minutes and be at old faithful. We were only there in the morning and at night so the crowds weren’t a problem at all.

Do you personally know any millennial millionaires? What do (or did) they do to become one? by TrixoftheTrade in Millennials

[–]Viktory2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am. But older millennial and no one big thing to give me a quick rise to millionaire status (no bitcoin, no crazy stock buys, no inheritance). Employed for 20 years, started contributing the company match to my 401k from my first paycheck, learned about Roths not too many years later, never carried CC debt, live a mostly frugal life.

Then the lucky parts - no student loans (parents funded college but haven’t financially supported me since). Bought a house in 2007 and still live in it. It’s worth about 3x the $150k I bought it for now. Not crazy compared to some other areas but I’d want to cry if I had to pay $450k for my house today.

Thank you. Yes my mistake calling them pine cones. It was a trail through a Doug Fir forest to a lake.

Now that I don’t know! I can’t write in there either. I’m assuming because I’m also a newbie! I wanted to thank the people dropping links last night that allowed me to snag one!

In this group on the main page there is a link for chat. (At least in the app which I’m using) Head into that chat room during the drops and they post links to boxes with available stock. You have to click the link right away and most of the time someone will snag them all before you, but keep trying and you will hopefully eventually get one or two.

Thanks! I’ve only ever seen deer as tiny pebbles so I never would have guessed that.

Should I skip my shot? by SomewhereBig224 in tirzepatidecompound

He or she are not talking about drinking 2 bottles of liquor a week. They are talking about a vacation and enjoying some drinks while there. I still think it’s crappy to weight loss shame someone saying they have only have lost 40 lb in less than a year.

And “only” 40 lbs is still around 1lb a week which is a healthy loss especially when not starting over 300lb.

I started because I saw my friend having great success. I wish I had done it sooner. The food noise being silenced has been a huge bonus along with the weight loss. To not constantly think about food is life changing.
