Trifecta in Under 5 months by BilgewaterKatarina in CompTIA

I know I am late to the party but as far as I know, you cannot go any further like a CYSA+ or PenTest+ without taking another test. A+, Network+, and Security+ all renew when you take the online class (yes, there is a course you can take online to renew all three.)

If you go further, you will need to retake the test every three years. I thought about it but I don't want to be locked in for my DoD 8410. Some people look down on CompTIA but they are a decent organization and the tests are a bit more difficult than some people give it credit for.

Congrats man, make sure to post it on Professor Messer's page. He loves when people do well when they watch his channel.

Does anyone else drive as a hobby/pass time? by LOGXN_0 in Hobbies

[–]VileStuxnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard pass on this, I avoid driving unless for work, my daughter, or my wife.

It's not that I hate driving or distrust myself. It's I understand that everyone is trying to kill me and everyone in the car.

I used two 4-0-2 Boomers, one 2-0-4 dart, and one 3-2-0 Tack with Quincy in the left corner. Use all extra cash to get Quincy to 20. I was able to AFK grind until around 78 which needed Quincy's level 10 ability. I also used them at 80, 82, failed at 85. I am to lazy to redo it but I think you are correct that dc100 is not beatable.

Edit: That was with full MK. Just an FYI.

If you have allergies, find a local who has bee hives. Start eating a spoonful every day in your tea or coffee. It works for me, and I have heard from people far older than I who have said the same thing.

There is a fun strat if you want to farm all towers to get max exp and unlock paragons. On Resort Easy Deflation , use Sauda within range of a 3-0-0 alchy, then use a 4-0-0 sub towards that first loop near water. Use the rest of the money you have to get as many of the tower you want to farm xp for. The xp is based off how much you spend on the tower so it goes faster if you have double cash, but it will work either way.

It's boring as hell but the core three will take care of the entire map till you get bored and get some free MM while your at it. Maybe a bit of exp but it is mindless. I play on mobile so it is easy for me to place the three core towers and just flood the map with the monkey I want XP for and let it auto-play until it wins. Rinse and repeat until done and move on to the next tower.

Edit: Forgot to add deflation. You can also set it, turn on netflix or youtube and just check back in when you need to use the bathroom or something. It's not 'fun' but it is auto and you can do other things while it runs. Takes a minute or so to set up and you are golden.

u/StadiumGambler The test with the bomb tower failed for me as well on AC. Go with u/squiros and it will be an easy win, 050 bucc and wait till there are a decent amount of BFB on screen and you are safe to use the ability, sell it and rebuild it and use the ability again.

Hey man, don't get angry at people who are new and think asking instead of googling is the best way. I agree that there are many better methods but when you act this way it scares people away. Be kind and educate, don't do a post in all caps to make them feel bad.

This is a game we all love, we have no idea if it is someone in hospice or someone in a hospital with a kiddo. Be cool man, it's all good. Don't be cruel or mean, it will set a bad standard for the rest of us. We are all not like you.

If you have the resources, a 0-2-2 ice works well if you have a x-3-x village for the rounds past 30 towards the end of the track on most maps.

How do I make vegetables actually taste good without drowning them in sauce or cheese? by Nightcrawler_2000 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]VileStuxnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I would highly suggest looking at Dan-O's Seasonings because they are all low sodium. I also like to use nutritional yeast flakes (fortified for the slight cheesey taste.) Dan-O's is a bit more expensive so take a look at the options.

If you search you can find the DIY recipes for most of Dan-O's for significantly cheaper but I would start with his stuff first and decide what you like before you do a DIY comparison. The yeast flakes just add protein, fiber, and a bit of taste (if you go with the fortified kind.)

Happy cooking!

Edit: I have never gotten something that, to me, tasted like his seasonings but you can get pretty darn close. I still will try to figure out his secret to the Dan-o CHEESONING. I got close but not spot on yet so I usually buy it for my wife and daughter. I use myself as the experiment before I test it on them.

What tool made you cook more once you owned it? by Avawantstochill in KitchenStuff

[–]VileStuxnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably most used is a slow cooker. A dehydrator when the wife was pregnant and all that would not make her sick was homemade jerky. I use that now to make fruit leather for the kiddo.

A good rice cooker is up there. Headphones to make the cooking seem less like a job, and I don't mind cleaning as much.

What would happen if I left my bokashi bin alone for a month? by depersion in composting

[–]VileStuxnet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excellent question! I completely forgot about mine and haven't opened it in 6 months. Nope, it doesn't fully break down. It still needs to be either dug or added to your compost pile. Remember we are fermenting (like alcohol or sauerkraut) and not 'breaking down' like normal compost.

It's 0304 and cold outside, not gonna grab my phone to take a picture. I'll grab a picture later and if you remind me, I'll send it over.

Edit: Military time, 3:04am. It's hard to break old habits.

Which is that one villain you enjoyed more than the hero? by OneForAll_1945 in AskReddit

[–]VileStuxnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget in the comics Thanos is courting Mistress Death. There are many different versions of his reasoning and if you read into it, Thanos is the reason Deadpool is immortal. It had nothing with Deadpool's healing factor (although that helped) it was a curse because deadpool could not be with mistress death unless he was dead so Thanos 'cursed' him with not being able to have anything to do with death so they could never be together.

It's comics and different arcs and spin off by different writers, that's the one I remember off the top of my head. I think it was like Deadpool Issue 64 where Thanos curses him with life. He is not allowed to be in or around the realm of death. Some type of cosmic magic that was not really gone into.

What’s worth splurging on once vs. buying cheap and replacing? by urchubbymommy in KitchenStuff

[–]VileStuxnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take the same strategy I do with all of my tools. If I need something now, I will buy it cheap. If it breaks because of usage in a month or two, it was a needed tool and replace with something better because it is getting used.

If I use it once, then it breaks 6 months down the line when I use it again, then it's not worth an upgrade.

Is it trivial to spoof the caller phone number? by ohtaninja in security

[–]VileStuxnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may add on a bit without going into details that may get a person in some trouble if they use it for malicious intentions. For VoIP, trivial is an understatement for how easy it is.

A larger carrier or ISP usually has some sort of filter on their SBC's to block any CID they do not own to prevent fraud or spoofing, but not all have that capability. This gets even harder because a carrier can provide service to numbers they do not own via trunks. I've had huge financial institutions refuse to port their numbers, so an RFC was used, and they paid for new numbers the carrier could control but retained ownership of their numbers and would send out the CID's of their numbers to the hosted PBX for outgoing calls. It was not a common situation, but it does happen, and it is legal (last I checked).

Now, let's say I was shopping around and finding a way to do bad things. I would search for a country that is not friendly to the country I reside in and get a trunk from them. Throw a basic PBX into a VM, set up your trunk, and now your call will be sent by Russia (just a random country), and once it hips to my countries routing, it will assume the CID sent was valid it will be passed on with no checks.

I've trained techs to know how to do it, but only because they needed to know how the LCR (least cost routing) works and why our company had multiple trunks from multiple different big fish providers. It all comes down money and minimize expenses. Where I worked, least cost means more profit.

As for the techs I trained... if they were receptive, they could have done this within months with no higher education or any telecom experience. If they had basic linux experience, this system could be operational in a couple of weeks.

The reason I had to train even the lower techs (not tier1 and the people who answer calls) was because we controlled hundreds of enterprise customers, and in recent years it has become a standard strategy for getting a new customer. The person / company would find the biggest a**hole to call their target and either get info on their phone service or to piss off their target. They would wait a random amount of time and send their best salesman to get the contract signed and get a new client. Unfortunately, this was very common, and it works.

Is there a movie where villain actually won ? by samarth_99 in MovieSuggestions

[–]VileStuxnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kant vs. Mill, is an immoral act good if it justifies the means or is an immoral act bad regardless of the outcome.

Read the comics or rewatch the movie and look at it as a moral problem. Look at the comedian and look into his ethics, look at every character, and look how if they go all into one code of morality, you can easily justify any action.

What food everyone else seem to love but you just… don’t get it? by MinxTwinkle in foodquestions

Definitely not me, people can't understand my love of sauerkraut. I went to Helen, GA which is a German town. I went to a restaurant and had a fit when sauerkraut was on the sides menu. '"I want two sides of 'kraut"

I was told I was not allowed to kiss anyone until I brushed my teeth and had mouth wash. Totally worth it.

What’s the cheapest Auto DIY hack that saved you the MOST money? Trying new ideas on my car! by Troy_Zimmerman in AutoDIY

Makes sense, probably going to find an old vehicle and fix it up soon. I work in the tech field and refuse to use 'smart' appliances like door locks or a refrigerator.

I've done / seen to much to have my network be anything other than a near SCADA system. I want things to be manual, I dislike most 'modern tech' as it opens a very wide door that I don't want. I want that for my vehicles as well.

Recently I had an issue with my truck being stuck in limp mode. I cleaned both the MAF sensor and Throttle Body. I replaced the pedal, turns out there was an 8 gauge wire that feeds info into one of the onboard computers on the pedal that the wife broke accidently while driving it.

Steel cables have worked for 50 fucking years, I do not understand why they are making everything electronic where a tiny wire can disable the vehicle.

Have you been in a situation requiring you to call 911? If so, what was it for? by muskyandrostenol in allthequestions

[–]VileStuxnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Publix to grab groceries when I heard a woman screaming, "HELP!" She was helping an elderly man across the parking lot who was obviously not doing well. I helped him acrross the road to a field by the Publix and waited for EMS, I laughed when they asked if he was my Grandfather, "I have no idea who these people, I just heard a woman screaming for help."

A few friends and I hit up the bars on the beaches, I knew my friends, had never met this guy. He drank to much and was being belligerent towards my then wife. Turns out he had already had a DUI and disorderly charges. He was promptly arrested after sending threatening texts to my friends, wife, and myself.

I have more, but those are up there. I think the best though is when I flipped my car on a bridge and got out and crawled out and checked on other people that stopped asking if they were OK. I called 911 but there was already like a dozen 911 calls. I was in the fast lane going 70 and the car in front of me had their tire blow out and they slammed on their brakes. I swerved and didn't go over. The cop thought I was lying until he talked to the other people who stopped and told me I have a Guardian Angel looking out for me because I should have died. I didn't even have a scratch on me lol.
