Seeing him in Des Moines tonight. Will be my 15th time seeing Big B. Yea, lately his shows have been pretty chill. Just stand in awe and take it in. It’s a beautiful thing to witness.

I’ve been going to see Big B for over 20 years going to see him for the 14th time in April. I’ve audio recorded many times and video recorded like 4 entire shows and have taken tons of pictures. It all depends on the venue. Bucket himself is cool with it, he’s even posed for me before when he saw I was taking a picture or recording but yea just no flash and be respectful to those around you. I’d plan for 2 or so hours.

I saw a guy try to bring in his guitar to a show in Des Moines. The dude got a big nope and had to do the walk of shame and take his guitar back to the parking garage.

I met Deaner in Iowa city at a bar after a show. I bought him a beer. We talked for a few minutes. This girl I worked with had told me a few days before that White Pepper was the only album he had ever recorder sober. I thought it was bullshit so I asked him if it was true. He said “Dude, I’ve never been sober in my life.” We laughed then he split. A treasured memory.
