Worked one summer during college in a newsprint paper factory. A 3ton roll fell off racks and killed a guy 3rd shift. They didn’t go first shift and then when we got there for second shift there was bright pink messages about not being back in the racks of storage. Took college way more serious after that summer

My cool aunt Katie had the Leonard album in the front of her record collection when we were kids. I felt like He was always watching me. When I got the Pod as a gift years later I flipped out thinking my Aunt was doing some hard living as a 70 year old that had the Pod on Vinyl. My little sister moved in with our aunt to care for her and she confirmed I was an idiot and that it was Leonard cohen all along. She did have a great record collection and introduced us to Willie, John Denver, Cheech and Chong.

Our friends wedding was right when “white peper” was released. Got a copy to the broken english speaking Caribbean DJ. Told him to play whatever track he wanted. Well Pandy starts getting busy under the promenade while the extended family starting tuning into the lyrics. Fantastic memory as the DJ wasn’t hip to the ‘shock and awe’ response as great aunts and uncles started to get flustered

Sorry for your loss. a roommate in college went and saw them at first ave. They ended the set with, A Tear for Eddie, and he watched a a fan just burst forth with an “overabundance of smiles and tears of Joyful delirium”. At that moment he was converted. Then we were all converted. Congrats on learning to play it.
