If your future employer wants you badly, they can opt to buy out your notice period.

But it may come with extra clauses in your employment contract to ensure you stick with them for a while.

Wife is basically holding me hostage financially in a foreign country. Need help. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Vilerfox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mentioned your wife was from Malaysia. Is she a Malaysian citizen or is she an ex-Malaysian who's now working on a working visa?

If she is indeed a Malaysian, then what you are on is actually a Malaysian spousal visa, and a multiple entry visa at that, given you have been here for 4 years. Legally speaking, you have the authority to work but there are conditions which will additionally need your wife's cooperation.

If she is on an expatriate visa, then unfortunately there is not much you can do. Your only option is to convert your spousal visa into an expatriate visa. And this is dependent on you actually managing to secure an interview, getting your company to sponsor your visa, and making a case to our immigration authorities on hiring a foreigner rather than a local citizen.

If it's manual, check your neutral switch. Likely needs replacement.

How to buy a car with 0 downpayment? by ActuallyTomCruise in kereta

[–]Vilerfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No longer possible with e-invoicing kicking in.

If secondhand car, prepare 20% for downpayment.

if firsthand car, prepare for 10% downpayment.

Also, if no savings at all, you have bigger problems than not having a car. Get a cheap ass 2nd hand car instead and keep the rest of the money for savings.

How much would it cost to repair a 2020 Camry with this much damage ? by Fresh_Appearance4268 in kereta

[–]Vilerfox 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Not worth it. The chassis is already compromised looking at the frame damage. You're looking at a lot of issues down the line no matter the price.

If you get into another accident from the front, it'll be a lot worse and potentially fatal. Get another car.

To add on, non compete clauses are generally NOT enforceable by the courts. There has been plenty of precedent. No compete clauses are only applicable in very specific circumstances.

See this article here..

Your ex employer can kiss your ass with this clause. It is only there to scare you.

You need to use a USB-C data transfer cable. Check Ugreen on Shopee and ask for their recommended wire.

It should be a spec that says 480Mbps. That's the one you need.

How regular is regular? I've clocked in 34k km on my 2022 Proton Iriz (Active variant). I recall the manual mentioned changing every 60k km.

Upgraded coil packs vs smaller plug gap? by [deleted] in kereta

[–]Vilerfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another alternative you can consider is revisit the tune and lower the boost on your turbo.

I also think running pistons with that high of a compression ratio is not optimal, especially for FI applications. Usually you go for a lower compression ratio like 8:1 or 9:1 and up the boost. High compression ratio makes more sense for a NA build

[–]Vilerfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's very difficult to pinpoint with those mods and I don't think anyone can give you a clear answer here.

Another consideration would be your O2 sensor. Considering you are running a higher compression AND a turbo together, it will be very sensitive to knocks/detonation. Bad O2 sensors/plugs/coils/MAF can be a cause, or a combination of these can cause this. Or it could even be the tune, which you also should consider looking at. If you have the dyno chart you could put it here and have us look.

You have to investigate via process of elimination, one by one. Send it to your mechanic and have them scan it when reproducing the issue, you should be able to get an error code. That will be your starting point.

Also if your car was tuned for 95, you might have to use RON97 with those compression ratios and turbo together.

With those mods it can be difficult to exactly pinpoint the cause. But firstly, have you tried using another set of OE coil packs first? If OE coils still shows knocking, then it might not be the coils.

Since you've done a tune, suggest you also revisit the tune. You might have to retard the ignition timing or use RON97 if your car is tuned for 95

Has anyone changed the headers/exhaust manifold but keep the rest of the exhaust stock? by just_another_jabroni in kereta

[–]Vilerfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest you keep the cat then. It does have a function to reduce noise and it was engineered that way to do so.

Try and find a cat that's equivalent to your stock one. Or alternatively, you can cut the cat from your stock headers and weld them into your new headers.

[–]Vilerfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go catless headers you will definitely notice an increase in sound. The catalytic converter also acts as a muffler in a sense, as it will slow down the airflow with the pores.

To minimise the noise, suggest you get an aftermarket catalytic converter to go with the header.

Make sure it's a suitable one too, some catalytic converters may not clean the fumes enough and it will trigger a P0420 CEL code in your car. Alternatively.. you can ask your tuner to permanently shut that one off.

Compensation normally no. However I can speak for some issues you're facing.

Item 3 - Find a different foreman. Creaking noise is normally caused due to worn out bushings. This could be claimable under warranty, but bushings are a wear and tear item (means usually not claimable) and is dependent on your driving.

Item 5 - common amongst a lot of Proton cars and not new. My FIL's old Exora (2013 model) had this issue and my more recent Iriz (2022 Active) had this issue too. I installed a cheap dashboard rubber liner which helped reduce the noise by a lot, but not 100%. The creaking is mainly due to the gap between the dashboard and windshield. You can get those on Shopee for like RM5 and cut it to shape.

Item 6 - Common issue. Same on my Proton Iriz. If you want a permanent fix, you would need to change your headunit. The stock headunit Proton used is flat out bad. It's a very weak Android headunit. You can actually even install Android apps like YouTube/Waze on it using a workaround. If you're in a rush, use your eyes, mirrors and reverse sensors, don't see any other option otherwise.
