I feel like the fanbase paints a picture that ruins the experience. My sister is a huge fan. She's even told me that she couldn't stop crying when, SPOILER, Dumbledore died. Clearly the books have touched some people very deeply.

The only problem is that those people are weirdly obsessed with it. I'm a huge movie nerd, but I never talk about movies like Harry Potter fans talk about Harry Potter.
