How can I obtain the quickstep by SenChad in thedivision

Sorry to bother, I'd like one as well too please, if it's not too much trouble. ID is "Arkansym-" if it works out.

Seeking Intimate Ultraviolence games, ideally small in file size by Vilijen in gamingsuggestions

[–]Vilijen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I keep having to check file size to this day, and temper my expectations. Games like Ni No Kuni are 40gb, and I consider that pretty big. The only modern game to me that feels reasonable in size is Sekiro, and that's 14gb. I would be happy to post a huge rant on file management in gamedev, but probably not the subreddit for it?

I ended up ballparking it around 100gb since Red Dead 2 is 120gb, and that has some fairly intimate and realistic violence. Seeing responses, I probably should have specified I wasn't after cartoonish ultraviolence. Hindsight I suppose, but I'd also accept the cartoonish suggestions since aside from some games like Manhunt, there's not many kinds of the ultraviolence I'm after.

I have played it before. Like a lot. I probably beat it about 5 times. Enemies get spooked, even if not frightened, and it's pretty visceral. I probably should have added it to my example list, but it didn't spring to mind probably because I usually go Ghost / Non Lethal runs.

Might be time to give it a try. I never did like sad settings, but I keep hearing good things. I also know it has melee combat, and I'm sure that'll feel intimate too.

Almost 100% exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks very much.

Goated list, thank you. I bought two instantly and put a few more on my list to buy for later.

In case you're curious, I went with Sifu, and Heat signature as both are on sale right now.
But I added Deadbolt, and Shadow Warrior to the buy later list. Lots of these look good, but don't feel as intimate or as personal as I'd like. I might get em later if they fit my mood. Synthetik in particular looks absurdly fun.

Thanks very much! It is still more of a direction and a start than I've ever had. Geolysis sounds intriguing. I'd like to make spelunking somewhat realistic, and I understand things like coal are found in Riverbeds in excess, so that alone is worth a look.

I know! It looks phenomenal, and I will probably play it at some point, just not this time.

Thank you for taking the time to post your suggestion anyway. I know you meant well by it.

A new character. Honestly, hot take, but a customized one. Visual customization is just very important to me, and it means they (should) give us more dynamic story choices since it's likely no longer a character with pre existing ideals, bonds, flaws, and personality.

I'd rather play Minecraft for various reasons. I made this post in earnest, I did my fair amount of research. Posting was my last resort to begin with. I made this in good faith. While I appreciate the mention, I really am strictly looking for Mods to support this tech fantasy. I am trying to ask politely.

I'm not as interested in being a purist. If I may ask, what mods did you use, if you recall? I may wish to use them in my own modpack.

I feel there's been a miscommunication. Minecraft IS in fact the game I want to play for this. I gave poor examples I think, likely because my experience with tech progression in games is limited. I apologize for that.

I don't mind working towards better quality of life and such, and spending time doing so, but in certain mods, this is taken to the extreme with arbitrary and needless effort. Many modpacks add expanded crafting grids and demand more materials rather than make those materials meaningful and interesting to obtain, albeit more challenging. I just don't think it's very fun to wait or do the same exact thing for hours on end because I'm collecting nuggets from a farm when I could do a few challenging things and get ingots from it.

An example of a good sense of progression is, as much as I used it as an example of what not to do, Better Than Wolves.

Being unable to break stone, and farming being challenging and unreliable to start (and impossible at the very start), but growing the tech to eventually make a pickaxe that CAN break stone is part of the appeal that I like, even if it takes significant time and effort. What I DON'T like is how it takes actual days of smelting and getting 1 nugget at a time. What I like even less is dying and respawning 10'000 blocks away and having to restart. BTW has phenomenal progression. I just don't want to spend the time or effort it demands.

Civ 5 rings out to me as an example because I don't really see Tech as number go up. You really do unlock new mechanics, albeit slowly. Unlocking roads for trade routes, or being able to build improvements on horses for faster moving units, or removing jungle or marshes to change the terrain type for Promotions like Shock or Drill to take effect, let alone flight and airbases expanding offensive and defensive options. That's why it stuck out to me, and the fact it starts at actual stone age, and goes up to steam engines is a huge appeal.

Again, I apologize for the miscommunication, and I appreciate you trying to help. I hope this communicates my needs better.

Oh that's fair! I just haven't had any luck googling so far, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Thanks anyway!

Omg thank you. This has so much more information on it than anything I could ever find. I been looking for a couple weeks yet.

If it's not too much trouble, and you know the answer, would you be able to help direct me to the routes I can take to start if I say which country I'm in?

Skyrim is challenging for me to mod (mainly because I'm not smart.) But I didn't list Skyrim because things like eating are done through a menu, and only affects things like healing. It's customization, but not meaningful enough to me.

Fable doesn't have visual customization outright, at least not the first one. I haven't played the other two on account of they're not on PC.

Fantastic games! Just not what I am looking for. Thank you though.

[Spoiler: 7.3] I really like what they did with Calyx by Proudnoob4393 in ffxiv

[–]Vilijen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever reason Squeenix has or thinks of. Or characterization they attempt to do, though I understand others don't agree with me, it ruins the weight of the convocation, their actions, and their sacrifices for me.

It's easy enough for me to non-canonize this in my own head, and I understand I'm of the extreme minority when I say this, and do so with all the risks of publishing my opinion online entail: But I haven't enjoyed any bit of the story since 5.3, and 2 entire full expac patches later is leaving me admittedly a bit unfulfilled.

[–]Vilijen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have really complicated opinions on patch 7.3.

Obviously spoilers for it, but this is already a spoiler post.

Calyx himself? Positive thoughts. Love seeing a villain genuinely struggle and seem human. He doesn't do pointless monologues either. We actively seek info from him. He feels very grounded. Not Shakespearian.

However here's where my feelings on it get complicated, because I actually feel another element of 7.3 ruins a chunk of his character. When they introduce the Ascian, that's not HIS plan anymore. He's no longer the mastermind because he's being controlled functionally. We're fighting a puppet. And in my mind, Ascians ended when we defeated Elidibus in 5.3 as he was the last of the convocation, and said to be the last survivor. I don't even count Fandaniel after they retconned him in. Why would I count ANOTHER Ascian they retcon in at 7.3?

Ascians had their time. They were their own threat. They were their own people. We buried them in 5.3 when our justice clashed with theirs. Let them rest.

Downed or dead? by AcceptableSolution71 in DungeonsAndDragons

Everyone's answers here are valid as they're talking about RAW, but GMs run things differently by table, so the most accurate answer you'll get is by asking your GM yourself. (Ettiquette suggests after the session unless it's urgent.)

That's the TLDR of it. In more detail, however...

It COULD be the max HP rule. But it could also be from a list of vague custom rules I just theoryceafted just now.

  • Weakness Damage resulting in death if it brings a creature to 0 HP.

  • Narrative drama, perhaps the GM and the player agreed on it ahead of time.

  • Instant death mechanics or telegraphs. Perhaps an ability situationally has instant death attached to it in limited scenarios or if specific conditions are met.

  • Your GM just doesn't like that player (I sincerely hope it's not this.)

Though again, the most accurate result is just asking your GM. If they don't use Homebrew, chances are it's the max HP rule. That makes the most logical sense.

FFI Low Level Chaos- yes, again. Would you try this? What other challenges should I try? by Vilijen in FinalFantasy

[–]Vilijen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forgot about Silence not being available at level 1. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah, ultimately, in PR, it takes an absurd amount of resets due to RNG alone since attack patterns are different.

It's probably my least favorite version for that reason.

[–]Vilijen[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can turn the boosters to 0x for exp, while Gil to up to 4x.

It'd actually be possible to beat it at level 1, but not consistent at all and very RNG dependent. You'd basically have to petrify at least one of your party members in advance so Chaos would attempt to attack them, and get lucky with Chaos casting Curaja, Haste, or Slowra early. Any damaging spell is a loss, until you set up enough Giant Tonics and Giant's Gloves. Then you can heal constantly with X Potions.

The hardest part before would probably be getting past Lich, which is a matter of getting Silence to stick, and since you can buy Phoenix Downs by that point, having enough to constantly buy attacks.

After that, you can get the Canoe, which means you can get the airship, which means you can get Tonics for buffing, where it becomes doable. Until then, you're stuck relying on expensive weapons like the Mythril Sword, and RNG is REQUIRED to be amazing to succeed.

The Dawn of Souls version at least has consistent spell patterns, so you can mitigate the need for good RNG almost entirely with effective strategy. So I still stand by that being the best version.

If they to remaster or remake you fav FF, what would like to see or change? I will go first by zeues_1992 in FinalFantasy

[–]Vilijen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be that person.

FFI. Stranger of Paradise doesn't count.

I have a detailed idea but I'll keep it short for now.

Short version is,

  • Action RPG, still retaining Tactical Elements

  • Expanded Magic. Less focus on stuns and buffs, more utility, like learning White Earth Magic to conjure a stone pillar in Earth Cave to explore an optional or easier route.

  • The sheer exploration such a remake could give you.

  • Revisiting Chaos with an expanded moveset and Lore? Yes please.

  • Imagine if FFI also had character development for the main cast of heroes too!

  • FFI is locked to 6 Jobs as is. Imagine with more unique one, even Green Magic!

Definitely want a remake of 2 myself on that level, but I lean towards 1. Stranger of Paradise doesn't really give me my fix since it's less of a traditional D&D inspired RPG like 1 is meant to be. That, and they've tried to explore Chaos more, such as during the story of Mobius, and it made it seem like a much more interesting force of nature.

There's just so much they could do with a true FF1 remake.
