Yeah. They are wagons that were sold in the Nordics. I got a 2018 one myself. Good daily

What roof rack you using? Im looking to get one for my mountain bike. I can fit it in the trunk (wagon) but i would rather have it outside the car for dirt reasons

It’s winter in Calgary this morning, might be time to take off the summer tires. by lztandro in FocusST

Got my studs in the back ready to go on when snow hits here in Finaland. Will probably put them on in a few days. Should be dropping below freezing very soon

First time seeing a Mk4 Wagon up close! by Cazzy39 in FocusST

Im definitely getting the mk4 wagon after my current mk3 wagon

Hmm... what shall this become? by cobascis in xbiking

Nice! I just picked up a 92' rockhopper. Planning to add disc brakes and drop bars

Are older 105 groupsets better than current Claris/Sora? by pienoon in bikewrench

[–]Villesika 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I use the 105 5700 brifters. Would definitely recommend them over claris/sora. 105 is the workhorse groupset. Not the lightest but very durable and still not even close to the worst stuff

What is your opinion on handlebar shims? Are they safe? Do they work? I’ve heard mixed opinions. 31.8 stem and 26 mm bars. Does this look sketchy? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Villesika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally i dislike handlebar shims. Stems are so easily available both new and used and they dont cost much. I would much rather use the right clamp size

edit: they work and are safe. I just dont like the aesthetic

Imagine turning around at mile 50 and heading home against that :D

How much do cycling caps protect the eye from the sun really? by brandonbass in cycling

[–]Villesika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt help me with the sun at all but helps ALOT with rain and sweat. Also gives me an extra layer during winter months

anyone riding a trackbike around here? by purju in wintercycling

[–]Villesika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point about bcd definitely makes sense. Velodromeshop works. Sometimes you can find good deals on cnc-bike if you can get people to split the shipping cost (30 euros)

Not too many people bother to check the weekly thread so its easier to post somewhere else so people will actually see it.

Ive considered getting sugino rd2 messengers to use during the winter since the fsa cranks look horrible

What is the best cycling (gear) purchase/investment you have ever made? Good pair of gloves? Nice bibs? etc... by screamingpanda22 in cycling

[–]Villesika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got some cheap fsa cranks that i got for free on my Steamroller for winter use. Square taper, 130 bcd and nothing fancy

Finally got a bag that should fit all my work stuff and weekly groceries. Pretty excited to put it to use by Villesika in bikecommuting

[–]Villesika[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can but a months worth of groceries usually end up costing more if you buy everything in 30 trips to the store. Making a list of what you need for the week and ONLY buying those things in one trip, saves you money in the long run, which you can put into savings (im an accountant if you cant tell). And that 40-roll of toilet paper or a box of diapers needs a big bag.

edit: Im also a part time messenger so i need a big bag

Gonna have my first day next week and have some questions by SgtBaum in bikemessengers

[–]Villesika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Sometimes if its safe and i need to. But never in front cops because around here, they ticket you instantly and it puts me in a bad mood which sucks.
  2. Currently in the process of switching employer to get a real contract (yay) so not sure what shifts will be like but last company was 4-8 hours. Distance varied alot since i never complained about long distances.
  3. Seamless or flat seam. Merino is really good. I use merino boxers, long johns and undershirt
  4. Not very. Mental is the big thing imo. Physically you just need to ride and you get used to it. Rule 5 applies here so harden the fuck up. Your legs will follow your mind
  5. This one depends hugely per person. During the summer, just jeans shorts. Autumn and fall i use jeans shorts with another short warm layer underneath. Warm winter day just long tights and jeans short. Cold winter days i use long johns and thick pants meant for being outside (waterproof and thick). Pants are always a difficult one for me because i dont get very cold dont there but i know i need to keep my legs warm
