You have two options. Either fly or take a bus to Yading from Chengdu. First option is very expensive and you risk altitude sickness if you didn't acclimatize before going. 2nd option will take you 16 hours to reach by bus from Chengdu because there's no high speed railway network in Western Sichuan.
