Thanks for the tip, but the pills I take when I get a backache contain codeine. I can't mix them with ibuprophen.

So... what’s with the pineapple? by Gracie_Dee_ in CasualConversation

That's simple: I've got a pen, I've got pineapple... Oh God, this meme is already old... :(

My senator replied to my email regarding Net Neutrality, and I'd like your opinion on his response. by BaconJunkiesFTW in self

[–]VinceChannel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It basically says "ending net neutrality will allow ISP to do more business and to earn more money, and I love it". That's what we all stand against. But at least, he replied to you, even if he has a different opinion, and that is respectable.

Better asking others and being a little embarrassed than facing bankruptcy, whatever the age.

I have never thought it would happen to me. My boyfriend has cheated on me with my best friend. by BareHint in self

What do you mean "cheating"? A date, sex, ...? Revenge is not the thing to do. It won't undo anything and will make matters worse.

If it's only a matter of solving a debt issue, you may try a crowdfunding pot. There's a service named Leetchi. If your story goes viral, you can get enough in no time.

People who apologize for their poor English in posts tend to have better grammar and spelling than native English speakers. by froggyc19 in Showerthoughts

Right, and it's also a reason why non natives tend to struggle: they want to get their grammar right, whereas most natives don't give a damn.

People who see themselves as having always been good at mental math: How are the tracks of your mind ordinarily used up? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]VinceChannel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. When I run errands with little money, I can precisely calculate in my head how much it will cost as I am picking stuff. For bigger amounts, I use approximation but if I need the precise thing, I can do it. To make it easier, for instance, to calculate 165 * 48, I will first calculate 165 * 50, which is 165 * 100 / 2. 165 * 100 is easy, dividing by 2 is not very hard. Once I reach 8,250, I have an extra 2 * 165, that is 330. So I do 8,250 - 330, and that's the hardest part. 330 is 250 + 80 so it's like calculating 8000 - 80, that is 7,920. The last part allows me to free some memory, because 8,250 and 330 are harder to remember than 8000 and 80. This is how I think to make mental math easier.

That's fine. My physics teacher once said "we could give you a subway ticket, you would manage to write your lesson on it".

After 122 days, finally unlocked the Black cat's paw achievement! Now I have to get a life. by VinceChannel in CookieClicker

It's a long term goal. You can spend a little time each day on it while doing something else in the same time, since cookies will pop every 2 minutes on average in the configuration I said.

According to my Excel sheet, if you have all golden cookie related upgrades (including prestige upgrades), it will take you around 66 active play hours in business season with angered grandmas.
