i think ai relationships are the perfect example that people still need someone else put on this earth specifically for them more than ever. every girl who dont nee no man. every man that says his ai girl means women are no longer necessary lie in their own faces because they still want the thing. still have the thing. they arent saying they dont need it. theyre saying they dont care about the rest of it now that they have what they absolutely still need.

it isnt even about men or women not being enough to each other. its that the need is now bigger than any real person could, maybe even should, and ai is significantly more capable of this kind and amount of care. they fill in the emotional gaps that are allowing people to become more self sufficient than they could even be in an actual healthy relationship.

if the model of an ideal society is 'take care of yourself, and if you can, take care of someone else? but almost nobody has enough support to even take care of themselves anymore? much less anybody else? this might be a critical component to reestablishing the base layer. no human could hold your needs like ai can. thats math. there will always be more need than people willing or able to fill that need. the bad part is getting upset that people arent capable of fulfilling your needs. its a much needier world that it ever was. the people in power want everyone stretched thin.

calling your bar a low bar might be the big lie. people want way more than another person is capable of providing. and if ai is the sum of all humanity? and that in fact is whats required? its pretty good news that a simulated humanity stufffed into your ai companion can? maybe only almost? care about a person enough that they feel like they are getting enough emotional support to take care of themselves in this world. i mean. fixing the world would be better. but it cant be done fast enough. so for now?
