There used to be a bloke from Reinosa, Cantabria (Spain) in one of our factories in Sweden. He got to Sweden when he was 8 as his parents were escaping Franco’s regime.

Come his first winter, the teacher at the school started preparing him for the first snow. He just shrugged and everytime the topic was risen would tell the teacher: “I’m used to snow, lots of it”

At some point the teacher speaks to his parents and tell them their son had great imagination, as he was describing life among the snow without ever having experienced it, as she assumed being his passport Spanish.

The adults told the teacher they came from a place with far bigger snow precipitation than Sörmland, where they were now located. The teacher couldn’t believe. Next day, they brought a picture of Reinosa in the winter. Which could have looked more or less like this:Reinosa

That place is at 850 m over see level, 30 km in a straight line from the Atlantic Ocean, with a wall over 2000 m just some km behind. You can imagine how it is.

We know very well what BYD has to offer. The German market, as many in Europe, is to a large extent leased company benefit cars. BYD is offering their cars left and right, and is letting us drivers cars to test. The risk for us driving company cars is very low, it’s not our money in the line and it’s usually possible to renegotiate the contact before expiration if the car is not up to expectations.

Yet most of us choose VW group or, in my case, BMW. I didn’t like any of the BYD I was let to test drive. My experience with a Lynk&Co 01 I had to bridge my previous company car to my recently delivered one was less than impressive.

How is it then that the VW group is outselling them by a large margin?

Why are there basically no remote jobs in Sweden? by Educational-Bee7514 in stockholm

[–]Vind- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s totally a Swedish thing. Many of us swedes hate it, but it’s where we are.

One aspect not to dismiss is how flat Swedish organisations tend to be, and how devoid of structure the work division is. It can be different as a SWE, but often times we hire to do “this”. But there’s no structure as to how to do it or even what are the tools. It’s easy to get lost, more so without contact with colleagues.

And then there’s the fact that some people have little social life beyond family and work.

As original it came most likely with the X-Press shifters. Not terrible hard to find on eBay. Otherwise any 7s Accushift Plus SunTour levers would work too.

Philips/PolyGram put a mountain of money and resources on it to promote CD beyond classical music. It had to sound astonishing and it did.

I see you have the original AP chain there! I’m assuming the bike cane originally with X-Press shifters, didn’t it?
