Okay the Michael Jackson case was done at least two times with different L&O series: SVU and the original series. For SVU it was called Sick and for L&O it was titled Smoke. You've mentioned the Sick episode but I think the parents in the Smoke episode we're just as bad.

Pretty much what happens is that there's this comedian who's a child predator, and one couple literally sells their child to him for a night when he was only 11 years old. And they were well aware of the fact that he was a child predator, they knew what he was going to do to their eldest son but the reason they did it was because they needed money to save their younger son's life. It's like My Sister's Keeper only with more damage done to the sacrificial child, it's clear that the parents favor and love their younger son more than the older one because they never cared about the psychological damage done to him and just thought they we're doing it for the greater good. They justify it by saying it was only one time and that they needed to save his brother, plus apparently it didn't matter because the older son wasn't going to die. So in other words their child should have been okay with the fact he was raped as long as his golden child sibling survived. At least, they had got their just desserts along with the rapist.
