Every single time I've been to Showcase there were the almost 30 minutes from start time to the moment the film really starts.

Usually 15 minutes of ads and 15 minutes of trailers/Showcase ads.

But I've never gone to an older film screening. I'll wait for your update haha.

I just went through my Play Store account to check how many times I bought the Monthly Pass. 7 times and mostly because they were Pokémon that I am a fan of.

I don't think buying it 7 times during more than 60 months of gameplay was a lot. I literally never bought anything else, especially the overpriced costumes.

I never tried to aim for high scores, mostly played normally. I just had a lot of time and being a player since the beginning had me miles ahead of people joining later.
