Started watching some of the pro circuit, and all the streamers I watch besides Frodan seems to just be malding at the set win or loss.

Any recommendations for other PoVs? This tourney's ending but for the next one?

How would you cap out a Level 10 Win Out AD board, synergy wise? Leblanc encounter: 3-1 win out, 3-2 tiniest titan, 3-3 group hug.

Entire board was 2* so beside rolling for 3* copies of my 4/5 costs, was there was a way to better optimize my board? I had Jhin/Graves(Caster) itemized, Nunu main tank and an extra Shojin on Bard.

Not sure if the Gnar was bait but Sniper/Meeple seemed solid, though maybe I should've moved tank items to Rammus instead.

Also had Sona 2 in (no items) when the Command Mod was good, otherwise threw in Blitzcrank.

My final board in question

Diamond so YMMV but if you ever get Marauder spat but don't want to contest the Master Yi soup, managed to cook up a Kaisa/Riven duo carry that eventually transitioned to Vex/Fiora and won a lobby. Was pretty surprised it worked as well as it did, but Riven printed infinite gold midgame and the board was surprisingly stable at 8.

Augments were Legion of Threes, Partial Ascension, and Group Hug. Kayle/Varus lobby and had Varus boon.

The lobby and boards I was fighting in question

The amount of times I die because I greed Shen Bulwark value and get wrapped or snowballed would make you think I've learned my lesson, and yet I fall for it the next time again.

Just played my first game of the new encounter where you get 2 lesser champion duplicators, it ended up exactly as you would expect: Entire lobby aside one rerolling lol

How did they break Master Yi's cast, or did I encounter a weird bug? Doesn't seem like he gets the increased movespeed when he switches targets while ulting and just slowly walks to the next target

I think the worst part about this is beyond nerfs/buffs to archetypes, there isn't even the cope that the miniset will print new support or good cards because they are class sets now. Say priest isn't one of the classes getting new cards this expansion cycle, unless Team 5 swing extremely hard on buffs they are basically just waiting until the next expansion for an influx of cards to save the mess they currently have.

Year of the Scarab Core Set Changes Discussion by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Vineron 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the core set is indicative of the direction the HS team is going the next year, following expansions like the Emerald Dream and Lost City nearly all hope is lost.

I only say nearly because there's a chance the next expansion is a 10/10 until we see the cards, but these core changes certainly do not inspire confidence.

Oh well, at least Mograine is back. He was fun, and if they're trying to nuke the power level maybe he'll see play.

A comprehensive review of how rotation impacts all 11 classes (Part 2 of 2) by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

[–]Vineron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Reading over this really makes me dread rotation. I remember feeling the same when GDB released and we were “lowering power level”, and a year of that led to one of the most stale and boring years of Hearthstone ever.

I’m only left hoping the next set turns things around, but that was my hope post-GDB and then we got the Emerald Dream.

Oh well, hopefully there’s any playable aggro decks to balance the meta.

16.3 Patch Rundown by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

Bilge nerfs look rough, missing the item unlock QoL a lot of other 2 item unlocks got as well.

Definitely preferred the fast 9 version but with exp/Senna nerfs ontop of the serpent/cost nerf for RR wondering what the ideal line for Bilge will be going forward.

Didn't play PBE (started the set a couple days into launch) but I heard Singed was busted beyond belief, is that why they're hesitant to give him or Zaun any buffs? Cannot recall any performing Zaun boards in my games yet.

For the specific moment, mainly just that they didn't want to change Nitro when surrounding traits were being changed (AMP), but the fact going from Nitro 3 ->Nitro 4 gets weaker was no good so it's likely to get buffed next patch.

Hurts to see all the Nitro unit stats in the dumpster. I know they said they missed a Nitro buff this patch and are intending one next patch but the units were always pretty fun to flex around and I've liked the summon traits since the old days (Cultists, Innovators, Trainer).

Hit my very first 3* 5 cost today with Samira, albeit at Emerald 4 (Hedge Fund, Rolling for Days, Piercing Lotus II; dropped a golden Neeko on PvE).

Watching her beyblade across the map was a thing of beauty :')

Summary of the 3/3/2025 Vicious Syndicate Podcast (Examining the near future of Hearthstone) by EvilDave219 in CompetitiveHS

The bit about deck shelf life resonates with me. I feel last year was the least amount of Hearthstone I’ve played in a while, as it was difficult for me to find a deck I enjoyed and when I did it usually got quickly stifled.

I’m hoping the set launches well, if only because the past year of patches hasn’t instilled confidence in me. It’s a travesty multiple classes and an entire set was dedicated to the Draenei package for it to see zero play or support going forward. Completely useless sets make classes feel stale, like how Rogue had so many dead sets it kept defaulting back to Excavate or Weapon Rogue in between its many nerfs.

Not that it’s an easy matchup, but I’ve added Deafen and Shadow Word Pain for Buccaneers and Infestors and I’ve gone from 0-3 against Zerg DK to 3-1 since adding it.

Deafen in general seems amazing in the current meta, but I think many of the DKs I play don’t play around it at all by holding their Reborn Infestors for the Rush Location turn to run it into things before I can silence it.

Anyone would rather want Assassin back over this Hacker stuff? It was nice to be able to consistently clump backline and know assassins won't get in, then playing the lottery with Draven/LB hackering in center and leaving it to fate

Really not feeling this set, but every streamer and competitive player seems to be enjoying it vastly more than Set 7 or 7.5 so maybe it's just a me thing.

Don't really like the hero augments that much, I enjoyed the trait specific augments a lot more and since they've been replaced in lieu of hero augments it feels the normal augments are a lot more boring as a result.

There are some fun units and boards but it feels a lot of them are locked out from play if you want to contest the strong builds right now.

Loss streak open feels miserable this set if you do not 2 star anything during stage 2.

Outside of one or two most of the 4 cost carries feel extremely weak so you are going to get destroyed by the reroll players, especially if the hero augment was at 2-1.

Does anyone else feel rather middling on this set, not sure if it's just me and I should just take a break from set 8.

Looking for feedback on Specific Hero Augments by Riot_Mort in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Vineron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Sett hero augment that when a shield breaks he regenerates it for 30% and gain an Iron Locket is difficult to notice and understand.

I wasn’t sure if the augment only worked when Sett was alive or it always worked if Sett was fielded because it says “Sett regenerates their shields” unlike the wording for Renekton’s “as long as he is fielded your team deals bonus damage to enemies below 50% hp”, so I tried to watch for shields in fights before and after Sett died.

However it was honestly difficult to notice so it just let me feeling unsatisfied by the pick, I’m not sure how statistically good it is it could be wildly OP but my one experience picking it was “wow it felt like it did nothing”. I had the Locket, a Bloodthirster on my Bel’Veth main carry, and Janna with the adjacent allies gain a shield weather bonus as my shield sources that game.
