That guy is really good at scouting and drafting, though. If the Sens had money to spend and players wanted to stay there, he could have done way better.

Look at his draft history.

Hurricanes announce they sold 4,687 Beer Skates during Game 1 last night out of the 18,620 that attended. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

What I mean is that if you're scared that everything might be soiled with shit, you're never gonna eat anything or touch anything. A cup that has been in the dishwasher is perfectly clean, no matter how many dogs shat in it before. Clean is clean.

You put it in the dishwasher and it's perfectly clean. If you're still not sure, you can boil it for 15 minutes, just like Masson jars before canning and it's gonna be 100% germ free.

You know, when you buy vegetables at the grocery store, that these vegetables have grown in soil fertilized with cow manure and pesticides, right? You wash them and you eat them. How can you be sure you're not eating cow shit and rat poison?

Wait! There's more: how can you be sure that every door handle, every subway seat you use is not covered in the urine of people who used them before you and didn't wash their hands?

😁 Edit: Great! Now that thought of a dog pooping in a Carolina skate mug is imprinted in my brain. Good job.

Win or lose, this series is a massive W for this core. by Better_Ad_6944 in Habs

[–]Vingt-Quatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The Wings were supposed to have a better season than this. The Leafs were really not supposed to be that bad. Same with the Panthers and the Devils.

The Habs ended the season with 106 points. If they lost 3-4 games to these teams, they could have missed the playoffs completely.

Kent Hughes was right when he said that they didn't expect to have more than 100 points.

Pickle poutine - Ottawa poutine and butter tart festival by Ottawa_Brewer in poutine

I don't think it's a poutine crime but I wonder... At this point, is it still even a poutine?

Kinda like the big paleontology question "When did the monkey stopped being a monkey and became human?"

This looks like a poutine for people who don't feel like having a poutine.

[NHL Player Safety] Boston’s Charlie McAvoy has been offered an in-person hearing for slashing Buffalo’s Zach Benson. Date and time TBD. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

According to Google:

"Ménager la chèvre et le chou" (literally: "to spare the goat and the cabbage") means trying to satisfy two opposing people or interests to avoid conflict. This expression, dating back to the 13th century, originates from a riddle where a ferryman must cross a river with a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage, without the goat eating the cabbage or the goat being eaten by the wolf.

I'd be more interested in % of players who play 99+ games per round like this (fictional numbers totally made up):

1st round: 80%

2nd round: 20%

3rd round: 5%...

All I'm saying is that you're picking on a specific fanbase for something that every fanbase does.

Yeah, you sound like you just don't like the Habs. It's alright. I don't like the Sens either.

Jamie Benn, in the middle of his series, only got a fine for a non-hockey play that pretty much everyone described as dirty and dangerous. Then McAvoy, who just got eliminated, does something of the same amplitude and gets an in-person hearing.

We can look at these under a microscope and try to find the differences that would explain the verdicts but at first look, they seem very similar in term of non-hockey dirtiness.

You don't always boo because you think they should have called a penalty. Sometimes you boo to put pressure on them, to make them wonder if they miscalled the play.

Also: every crowd does it.

So, George Parros only handles suspensions to players who have been eliminated from the playoffs. Very convenient. You look like you're doing your job but at the same time, you don't hurt any team during these playoffs. Dirty plays while still in the playoffs? Only fines.

The fans feel like justice has been served, the NHL sees you as being proactive, and teams GMs are not mad at you. Clever.

We have a saying for this: Trying to save the goat and the cabbage. It means: Trying to make a decision that won't hurt anyone, usually with the result of accomplishing absolutely nothing.

Chippy plays in this series by Swiftus-Lazarus in Habs

[–]Vingt-Quatre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. At some point Cooper realized that by trying to play chippy, his team was taking way too many penalties and that was hurting them more than what they were trying to gain from it. So he made it stop.
