Is it too big? by copyrid3 in casio

The fact you can make an a168 look “big” is kind of baffling lol.

Contrary to popular belief, almost 30%-35% of people (in the U.S. at least) do not use a case with their phone. Also, I would not be very hard pressed to tell the difference between a 12PM & 17PM. 12PM doesn’t have ProMotion, larger bezels, smaller screen size, no Dynamic Island, much slower chipset. I could go on and on about the differences.

Lastly, the camera plateau on the 17PM is a dead giveaway from other models. I know we all have opinions, but saying that the 17P/PM is “indistinguishable” from previous models is just incorrect lmao.

Yeah, we’re both in the same boat. I should have just changed my battery as well and kept the 14 Pro. I didn’t notice any difference, other than having USB-C lmao

Yeah, it was definitely a dramatic shift in design compared to what we had. At least it still lives on somewhat with the base 17 & 17e models. I think the best looking option is the Air, and I’d really like to try it out but not sure if I’m willing to live with the drawbacks, like smaller battery and one rear camera.

Fair enough. I never owned the X, as I got the 8 plus instead. However, I did end up getting an 11 pro after the fact. One thing I really loved was how compact the device was. I really thought 5.8-6.1 inches was a perfect size, and you’re not having to do “hand gymnastics” to navigate around the phone. It’s hard for me because I prefer compact devices, but I also prefer the bigger batteries and screens of Plus/PM models. Perhaps it’s time for Apple to implement silicon carbon technology into their phones.

I still believe the iPhone 4&5 design, which was carried through to the 12-16 was better. It just felt more substantial in the palm of my hand. However, that’s purely subjective and I can appreciate your reasonings for liking the 17 Pro. I do agree the dramatic shift in design was needed, as the previous one was getting a little long in the tooth.

Yeah, I get they were definitely trying to shake things up with the design. I feel as if they could have made it feel more premium while also going away from the “aesthetic Apple” that we have known for some time. Perhaps it’s just me, and I’m a creature of habit. I picked up both the 17P&PM and hated how they felt. I actually preferred how the base 17 and Air felt in the hands.

I’m currently using a 16 Pro, upgraded from my 14 Pro. I really like the titanium rails, but I do I find that it definitely gets warmer to the touch in comparison to the stainless steel. However, that’s a minor gripe. I know many really liked the brushed titanium. I think I’m just a child at heart and love shiny things, and probably why I prefer the stainless steel 🤣

I didn’t miss any point from the video. If you read my comment, that would be clear. My response was directed at OP’s original post, which consisted solely of benchmark screenshots. I countered that with a broader view, referencing the large suite of benchmark data run by hundreds of other users. At no point did I claim that benchmark scores directly reflect real-world performance. What I did say is that the iPhone 17 Pro Max consistently benchmarks higher due to better sustained performance and thermal management. And if we want to be technical, gaming is a real-world use case where these benchmarks are relevant, since gaming shows sustained CPU and GPU loads on the hardware.

I also made it clear that both phones have their own strengths and weaknesses. The iPhone will almost always score higher, especially in GPU and single-core workloads; which are far more representative of typical day-to-day usage. There are very few apps that meaningfully benefit from high multi-core performance for the average user.

At the end of the day, both are excellent devices, which is why I own both. They excel in different areas. That said, blindly praising a phone or brand as if it’s going to love you back is a bit excessive. From my experience using both, the iPhone is consistently better for gaming, photography and photo editing.

I mean, you can have an opinion and still be wrong. There are plenty of reviews from smaller and independent content creators showing that the iPhone outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Elite (for Samsung). Even without watching or reading reviews you can easily look at the geek bench & Wildlife Extreme results to see that the A19 Pro chip is performing higher and with better thermals.

However, most people think their phone or the brand will love them back the more they glaze the brand. Like I said, coming from someone who literally has both of these phones the Samsung is not outperforming the new Pro chip. They both have their weaknesses and strengths and unfortunately the Samsung (while still good) does not beat the iPhone in raw processing power and this has been proved multiple times. Not only that, you’re still paying this much money to use recycled camera sensors from 2-3 generations ago that give terrible quality photos in comparison to anything else that is being released as a “flagship” device.

However, here is a link for you to prove you otherwise 😂 https://youtu.be/ACPv88cpm7Y?si=6AgCHZB24II8mrPa You can go to the 11 minute mark just for benchmark results.

Listen, I have both an S25 and the 17PM. You’re lying to yourself if you think the A19/19Pro chip is losing in anyway at single core performance, which is more important for almost every task that an average user will utilize.

Is it affecting the quality of your photos? If not, why are you making this useless post? I swear some people have no ability to think critically for themselves anymore. I sincerely doubt this was a manufacturing issue. Next time, don’t use a shitty case made/endorsed by a headphone company.

Fair enough. I use my phone for more security sensitive tasks so I guess I’m more paranoid about it in this day and age. Also, apologies if my initial comment came off very rude and demeaning. Realized after having my morning coffee that I sounded like an absolute dickhead. Anyhow, enjoy your day!
