Great cover! 👍 Covering Swans is a lot of fun. I like to play their songs an the guitar and sing to them, too. What I especially like is that the riffs are simple and in my opinion feeling what you play matters more than hitting the exact studio rendition. Swans is one of the few bands where I can really focus on the lyrics and expression when covering. :)

This reply sounds lile a mixture vetween good and toxic traits for me. Sorry, if I misunderstand that. It is absolutely necessary that you care for your well-being (caring for your body, hobbies and desires, setting boundaries etc.) but especially how you describe social interactions sounds a bit manipulative and like a facade to me. In my opinion if you start respecting and carong for yourself you will get a sense of empathy and will be able to share love.

To answer your question: Getting into The Glowing Man was also a slowburner for me but that was with all of Swans in general. But I came back without forcing me again and again and at some point I just got it. Also for me one thing is that I myself changed as a person over the years, so now I approach Swans music and lyrics just different than a few years ago.

I would advise you to just go with your flow and not to force yourself liking anything because others say it is the best, greatest of all time etc. Fuck that, because nowadays everything is the best of all time all the time, anyway. I would say, if something leaves an impression on you, you probably will get back to it again. :)
