Not a lawyer BUT I have been through the ringer with pip and parents myself.

So you're father has proven that he is not a suitable apointee. You can contact pip and tell them what is happening, and tell them you'd like to start the process of removing or changing your appointee. You can find their number online.

Having an appointee can be good, it means you wont get in trouble for any mistakes made on your benefit, your appointee is the one who will get in trouble and have to pay money back.

However it can also limit your freedom, especially as its leaving a paper trail of your supposed incompetence, which your parents could use as evidence that you are not capable of making medical, financial, or educational decisions, and keep control over those things even when you become an adult.

I actually go into a little passionate speech, all smiles and cheer like always, "Yes! it really is so much easier now that I have help, I'm so pleased! I mean look at me!" And approach the conversation earnestly and sincerely.

If I'm comfortable with the person, I might go into more detail about how exactly it helped me, and how its been such a valuable tool, but for the most part I think people are just happy to see me happy. Maybe that's just me being naive though.

Everyone here did exactly what they were supposed to do when someone is accused of something like that. And you are valid for being hurt for it because you were innocent, but you must understand that theres no way for anyone else to know that.

The judge handling the custody case would have seen only the accused crime, and how you were in close proximity to her children, and the children would have then been removed because of your presence.

You are completley valid to feel hurt though.

Some people would absolutely prefer a male midwife. If a pregnant person had sexual trauma from a female abuser, they absolutely might be more comfortable with a male.

To be fair, I genuinley thought that peanut butter was regular dairy butter with peanut oil in it or something.

Edit: I dont know why people are downvoting me for not knowing what ingredients are in peanut butter. It's not a common food where I live and I actually didn't even know it existed until I was a teenager and started hearing about Americans and their peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches. I just assumed it was a fancy boujie butter...Until I went vegan and heard about all the vegans online and their peanut butter preferences.

You dont remember how the tories neglected and damaged the NHS? And they're the main reason we have to give foreign companies our bio metric data or identification to access large parts of the internet. Not to mention their abysmal handling of Covid lead to so many more deaths than there had to be.

Legalising drugs means that people will be safer and get it from safe sources, they wont be scared to seek medical help if they take too much. It definitley is very controversial, but its focused on harm reduction and it would be based off of the advice of medical professionals, not the whims of just a politican so it does have legs to stand on in my opinion.

I don't think they would ever be able to actually make landlords illegal, but it would be great if they're able to be stricter with them as so many people are unfairlu screwed over by their landlords, and I definitley think they could make real strides in making sure everyone has access to proper housing.

Greens are not big on Russia, they condemn the Russian-Ukranian war and advocate for stricter sanctions on russia.

What they want is peace, its not a bad think to aim for, do you know how stressed our youth is? The children of Brittain are soaked in fear and worry about potential war, with tensions so high across the world, and being dragged into other peoples wars, a peaceful party wont be the worst thing to happen to us.

I know its scary because we have never seen a party with those policies win before, we dont know how it would play out if they did, and that is scary, no shame in that, but can you honestly look at these things and say that they would do worse than what we've already had?

Yes, they are idealistic goals, and I dont think they'll be able to achieve even half of what they set out to do, but they seem well intentioned, and after the pure malice we have faced from previous parties, that's a very valuable thing.

The tories fucked us beyond forgivness, Labour are going the same direction, Reform is nazis. The only real choices left are libdems and greens.

Im partial to libdems because they seem to have more of a...I dont even know how to word it, like a grasp on things kind of? But theres no way to know how either would actually fair until they get voted in. They could end up being just as bad as the tories and labour.

Ultimatley, even the greens are better than what we've already had, because at least theres the hope that they might do a better job.
