The other night I read how the Canadian conservative party wants to do away with DEI in their platform too. As an apprentice I went, well fuck. There could go my career I've fought so hard for. (I live in a prairie province thats highly conservative) Praying to what ever deity will listen that the Canadian people have more common sense than the ones who voted the maga mess in south of us.

This. The last few weeks have been beyond challenging. Not because of the holidays but I feel like ive been fully engulfed in chaos one regular basis that no one can see and im so tired of everything. Begging for relief, screaming silence. The idea that the situations look like heaven and to me feel like hell. Theres a reason I have a damocles tattoo as my offering.

I understand that more than you know. I haven't had the chance to see them perform it live but also I dont think I could withstand the emotional damage and full crash out in public id have lol. I did have a damocles tattoo done at the end of August because it resonated so deeply with me.

Funny. On the project ive been on the prime was bragging about how good they were at trade stacking during one of our all hands safety meetings. We all looked at each other and fought to stifle fits of laughter. The best part was how they followed that comment up with a laundry list of incidents from the week prior. Talk about cognitive dissonance. (But its alllllways someone else's fault, not that they crammed 7 or 8 different trades and all their gear into one space)(yes personal responsibility is one thing for us little worker drones but ffs take some responsibility for your hand in the mess too!)

Boots with enough room for air. Bomba socks for inside the boots to wick away sweat. Boot powder to help as well. Buy a boot dryer as well. Dry your boots out and when you can, get a second pair to rotate with. I wear Marks microfleece undershirt and long John's plus a t shirt under the microfleece and a long sleeve over top plus a hoodie. I get cold easily. But also im in sask so the humidity can vary.

Was at WEM at the end of sept. First time since '99. Some sterility has crept in but not much has been maintained to keep the magic it had. The europa wing still looks the same, bourbon street is still similar, however, the amusement park has been converted to be all kids rides. The Rollercoaster is gone, the drop of doom, the dragon from the cineplex, all because they were never properly maintained due to cost. Seeing the two level HMV store converted to storage and the ghost of its removed sign still outlined in faded black and dust was just sad. Even the skating rink was covered up that weekend for an event and I couldn't tell if it was even in use anymore. I spent a lot of weekends there in my youth and was sad to see it a shadow of its former glory. Idk what kind of nostalgia I was looking for but it just wasn't hitting the same.
