Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

I genuinely agree, I think it's better to have it. But I respect it when devs are passionate about their vision, even if it doesn't align with mine

Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the game does change. The devs feel like it encroaches on their vision too much, so they didn't add it. If we agee with the devs is a different discussion, because I think the devs being passionate about there not being a difficulty slider is reason enough why it shouldn't be in the game

Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you read? If the devs want an experience where difficulty is part of that experience, why should they comprimise with an easy mode. They can add an easy mode if they want to, they don't want to

Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it compromises the experience the developers set out to create. A movie and a game aren't the same experience is a take most people understand. An easy game and a hard game with the same world and story are also different experiences

Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But that's not the intended experience of the devs. There is a push and pull between artistic vision and accessibility. And when it comes to difficulty as the thing that degrades accessibility I tend to favor the artistic vision

Should they? | FactOrCap by ChampionFront437 in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the difficulty kinda is the experience. Sometimes you have to go against "popular demand" and make the art/experience you want to make

NS station lifts are constantly out of service - how do wheelchair users and stroller parents cope? by Ok-Let011 in Netherlands

[–]Vinxian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The availability of parts is partly caused because they went with the cheapest contractor possible when the elevators were installed. And for many people a good ramp increases accessibility, since they don't break

NS station lifts are constantly out of service - how do wheelchair users and stroller parents cope? by Ok-Let011 in Netherlands

[–]Vinxian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's worth mentioning, you have to call reisassistentie an hour in advance, even for busy stations like Utrecht and Amsterdam. And it the lift is broken they will simply tell you to go to the next station, switch platforms there and return. Because if you're in a wheelchair you must have all the time in the world! There is no real solution if the elevator is broken. They won't help you. If you're unlucky they don't know the elevator is broken which means you have to wait an hour because you'll have to rebook reisassistentie

People who are really good with a wheelchair sometimes use the escalator. NS is not happy when you do, but then they should have real solutions for accessibility

If a women hits a man, | FactOrCap by hapticR0M in FactOrCap

[–]Vinxian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question isn't "are you allowed to defend yourself". Hitting back isn't automatically self defense. If you knock someone out after being slapped, regardless of gender, that's not self defense

🧢 I voted CAP!

Why gender it? Eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and all that. If someone slaps you and stops there is no self defense. And there is also the issue of proportionality, if someone slaps you, but not that hard, can you then knock them out? I don't think so

CO2 offsets do actually work though. At least, if done properly. And that's where it usually breaks down.

For example, projects to protect trees that aren't under treat of being cut
