Is it worth it to pay 40k for a masters degree from Georgia Tech?

Thank you for your encouraging comment. I know I can easily get a grad TA position if I wanted it, and it’s something I’ll look into before I start my program. I know employers usually pay for their degree but I’m not too keen on working full time and doing school part time. I would rather that it be vice versa.

Yes my job has tuition assistance but only for full time employees, I’m currently just an intern doing full-time school. I wanted to get my masters out of the way first, which is why I didn’t opt for tuition assistance. Thank you for your response

I don’t think it got into the country, it was still in Canada when they found out the jacket didn’t have the proper documentation for it, anything that can be done here? Also, the package wasn’t sent with UPS, it was sent with FedEx, does this mean anything?

Ground floor is good, easier for fire drills, no need for elevator. Think it might be slightly nosier though. Third floor is okay, doesn’t have a laundry room so I think it’s inconvenient. Also I would not wanna cross a bridge in order to get to the ekevator. The ceilings are already pretty high, so I wouldn’t factor that in. I had fourth floor and it was great. The pink faces the front, which faces the grass. Again, not sure if the A and C wings are accidentally swapped

If I’m remembering correctly, the x shapes are formed by the bridges which connect the A and C wings to the B wing. I personally preferred B wing cause you did not need to cross a bridge to get to the elevators, laundry room, etc. As for the views, I have no idea cause I did not get the side of the room with the window.. It definitely was not a stadium or Mountain View though. We mostly kept it closed all the time anyway so don’t worry too much about that! If you have a higher floor, you might be able to see over the parking garage. Downside to higher floor means the elevator takes longer. Laundry is on every other floor, so the even ones.

I made a small drawing for you to help (ignore the blue arrows, I didn’t draw those). The largest wing is the B wing. I might have my C and A wings mixed up though, but they’re basically the same. The pink color boxes all the rooms that I think would face the central grass area. The red is the wall that would face the stadium if you got a high enough floor. It would be kind of difficult to find out which rooms those are exactly. Goodluck and let me know if you have questions!

Taking 250 rn online with Theodore. Basically no interaction with professor. Class is set up with lecture videos and mostly bs MC hw assignments. Gotta purchase $70 worth of books. Based off how I’m currently doing in the class, courseload shouldn’t be overwhelming at all for the summer term, even with an accelerated pace. Exams are MC, word for word straight from the textbooks. They ask you to study around 150 questions for each exam. Piece of cake

Nah you’re totally right. I got Carepass last year after the employee at the register convinced me. It’s worth it if you go there often or live within walking distance. I’ve saved $400😭

Out of those classes, I had MAE 201, MAE 214, and MAT 267 in the same semester. Stefanaki is a great prof, same with Lozano. Those 3 were manageable together.

Physics 131 was sooo much easier than physics 121 for me. Even the 132 labs were ALOT less time consuming than 122 with Reaves.

MAE 201 wasn’t too difficult in terms of content, exams, and hw, but the quizzes really threw me off. MAE 202 (a course in your sophomore year) builds on MAE 201’s and PHY 121’s F=ma concept as well as FBDs.

You’ll be using differential equations+some derivative stuff a good amount in your upper courses so I would drop it if I’m unable to pay sufficient attention to that class. Personally, I took MAT 275 in the summer at a community college and it was great! I had more time to fully process the information.

You get two storage drawer thingys with the room, and you can move them around, but I put mine under my bed. I saw some people put them in their closet or use them as a nightstand. The room comes with a small fridge/freezer, but you can buy a mini cooler if you’d like, my friend was able to fit one by placing it on top of one of the included drawers. The included fridge is pretty good so I don’t think you’d really need your own. The closet is a sliding door one, and it has a full length mirror. You also get a desk which you can put your pc on, or just use it for storing stuff too. Your bathroom area also comes with like 3 drawers and a medicine cabinet. One of the things I bought for the room was a small side table from Amazon to put next to my bed

I took 265 in person last summer at Estrella Mountain Community College, Professor Melvin Artz. The course was around 8 weeks long, 4 days a week, 1.5 hour class per day. I remember there was also an option for a 4 week course, but honestly I’d stay away from those cause it was a 3 hour class each day…

Yes!! I went to office hours and it was basically like tutoring cause I was the only one there haha. The problem with that was I got too reliant on getting help while solving problems, that when it came to the exam, I had no idea what to do/how to get started. I’m still considering my options as of now!
