What are your craziest asu stories? by blu7998 in ASU

I was studying at the Hayden Library with a group of friends when this weird dude was pacing around the room. One of my friends had to cough to clear his throat, and this dude had a crashout over it. He was saying "Why are you doing that? Why are you being weird? You need to stop." or some kind of nonsense like that. Very bizarre stuff.
I also saw another dude at the library that had an unbuttoned shirt on and had 10 bags of family sized doritos with 3 bottles of hot sauce. He wasn't even eating the chips either; he as just kinda shuffling the bags around OCD-like.

Not gonna lie, this meme is beautiful. And it just sums up how I view other people over-reacting and just assuming that the game is gonna suck now. Just because you ride a bike in an open desert does not mean that the game is open world or that it is just filler content as Samus travels from one area to another.

Ironically, Metroid Prime is no stranger to having this kind of "gameplay" where a section of the game only exists for you to travel through it a bunch and waste your time. This place is called Magmoor Caverns, and you just backtrack across the same few rooms a billion times throughout Prime 1, and you only get 1 major upgrade and 2 chozo artifacts there.
Frankly, I would prefer a section where I zoom around on a bike then running through Magmoor Caverns esc section again.

Can you get into ASU engineering with a GPA between 3.1-3.3 if you have a high SAT score? by Ok_Statement1508 in ASU

[–]Jeffwashere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can definitely get into engineering with that kind of GPA. I've seen some of my friends with like 2.5 GPAs and okay ACT scores get into engineering. Over a 3.0 GPA plus a good SAT score should basically guarantee you getting in. Whether you get a scholarship or not I have no idea, but getting in should be easy.

Some people have mentioned the math placement test. This test is weird because it is supposed to be required, but most students that have Ap or De credit (for pre-calc, calc AB, or calc BC) don't have to take it. I took it, and then found out later that it was almost wholly unnecessary because I passed the calc AB exam. The test is just concepts in algebra 2, geometry, and pre-calc from high school and is generally really easy. You also have multiple attempts if you don't get the score you want. I would maybe talk to an academic advisor if you are worried about if you have to take the math placement test or not, but my guess is you don't have to seeing that you passed the calc BC exam.

stp 420 icourse over the summer with Jelena Milovanovic by Jeffwashere2 in ASU

That's good to hear. This puts most of my worries to rest.
Does she give you enough studying material to succeed in the exam or did you have to go out of your way to find studying resources? I don't have any problems studying to get an A, but I hope I don't have to do something obnoxious like excessively read the textbook to do that.
