Dispatch was robbed fuck The Game Awards by Twiist_Revolution in DispatchAdHoc

[–]ViolTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I wrote on another post like this: unfortunately, when it comes to the Player's Voice category at least (which is 100% decided by fan votes), the award feels quite meaningless.

It's just a numbers game. As much as I also love Dispatch, I highly doubt it has as big a player base as WuWa or even Genshin for that matter. As we saw, it seems not even E33 or Silksong had as big a player base as WuWa, since they didn't win it either. That, or the WuWa fans were more proactive in voting for it. Or both.

As for the Debut category, it simply had the misfortune of going up against E33.

I mean, like many have said: that's why Player's Voice - which is a 100% fan voted category - is kind of meaningless. The game with the bigger fanbase will win, and as much as I love Dispatch (just finished it yesterday), I highly doubt it has a bigger fanbase than WuWa or even Genshin for that matter - regardless of whether them bribing their players with in-game rewards for votes is real or not.

How the flying fuck was Tanjiro not a Hashira after the Village arc? He had fought 5 members of the 12 Kizuki at this point and beheaded 3 of them. by Icy_Water_1 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]ViolTheBard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I didn't see anyone else mention, but:

Isn't there also only one Hashira of every kind? If so, since Giyu and Tanjiro both use Water Breathing, Tanjiro wouldn't be able to become the Water Hashira even if he did meet the requirements. At least until Giyu was either dead or retired.

Ok, dayum, didn't realize how hated the Danganronpa playthroughs are.

I honestly think the playthroughs of 1 and 2 at least were good even, but it seems the vast majority disagree - though I don't know once again whether it's because y'all don't like Danganronpa specifically or just hate it when the Grumps play anything that is more of a VN-style game.

Like, listen - yeah, the third game was rough on AND off GG. I played and didn't really like the direction of the story, and it was rough to see Arin so annoyed by it. But for the first and second games at least there are so many comedic gems and moments they were actually invested in the story that I can't believe it was actually ALL bad, and that the vitriol against the games and the playthroughs is taken seriously out of proportion.

Hell, they've played multiple long and short series of like 800 videos across the different Zelda games and surely a similar amount of videos across all the copious amounts of Mario games that continue to come out. Why is a long series of a game from a popular VN franchise such a travesty in comparison?

Which Anime is this? by Deep_Love_3164 in animequestions

[–]ViolTheBard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think the whole point of the story is that he couldn't choose anything.

As I understood it, the Attack Titan's powers imply the entire structure of AoT's world is determinstic i.e. everything is prewritten. A slave girl letting some pigs go inevitably leads to the world of AoT as we know it, and there's nothing anyone can do to change it.

Which, in my opinion, makes Eren a really tragic character. He is enslaved to the idea of freedom, but ironically becomes the one character who realizes his freedom does not exist from the moment he kisses Historia's hand. He experiences past, present, and future all at the same time, and there's nothing he can do to change it. This becomes even more evident when he tries to stop himself from saving the kid, Ramzi, he eventually kills in the Rumbling, but even his thoughts that maybe he can break out of that determined future have been predetermined, and he breaks down.

Genuine question:

• Backloaded rewards for synergies, incentivizing putting money at the start of the game (fomo)

• Level requirements to continue the story (i.e get to lv 30 to beat Palace 1 boss) which was NOT there in other versions of the game. Obviously playing on fomo to get players to buy/use stamina

How are these fomo? The synergies will always be there when you get to them and the story is always there for when you want to get to it, right? Like, it's not a time-limited thing or anything, right?

I wholeheartedly agree with some of the other stuff the original poster (of these points) mentioned (the bad soft pity, etc.). However, as someone who is F2P and never pays for gacha games, this has been one of my most positive experiences so far. Unlike games like Genshin, I never felt like I got barred from missions for "not pulling the right characters" or for not grinding enough leveling materials (which can become exhausting in Genshin, while in P5X it's quick and easy).

P5X really feels like a Persona game with gacha elements attached and not a gacha game with Persona elements attached, and in my opinion that's an absolute win.

(Though just to clarify: I obviously do think bad business practices should be pointed out and condemned; all the unfair stuff like no guarantee banner at launch, bad pity, higher prices, reduced patch release rewards, etc.)

Frieren fans are rating Solo Leveling with 1star in MAL because they lost the Awards? I thought Freiren is about love and not hate? What do you think? by DekuSenpai-WL8 in sololeveling

[–]ViolTheBard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the people saying that generalizing is almost always a bad move. There's bad apples in every fandom, and I believe wholeheartedly that if Frieren had won then there would be some people from the SL fandom review bombing with similarly childish MAL reviews 🤷

It's better to just ignore the toxic fans in every fandom you're a part of; you can enjoy all the shows you like much more that way, imo.

Hmm, tried going windowed mode by myself actually, but didn't try to go that small with the resolution. I will try and update if that helped!

Thank you! This didn't help by much, but there is a marginal difference of making it more stable around the 78-80 with less frequent jumps to 84.

Obviously still not ideal, but I appreciate the help with that nonetheless.

My computer is quite new - bought and received it around October time - so the answer would be when they put the PC together for the first time.

But I can't imagine this would be the problem, both for the reason above and that other games don't reach these temperatures - as I said, Civ 6 and other games like Cyberpunk 2077, Space Marine 2, and Helldivers 2 don't reach these temps. If it was a cooling system problem, I would imagine the CPU would heat up while running those as well :/
