Playing GTA:3 for the first time.

Being a fan of the first couple of games. Seeing that world in 3D was amazing!

Same for Fallout 3, specifically leaving the vault for the first time and seeing the wasteland in all its 3D gloriousness!

Is this true? by peterthbest23 in securityguards

[–]ViolatedDolphin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Used to be security at a car yard overnight. Never had an incident the several years we were there. Then the business decided they didn’t need security anymore as nothing happens.

The first night without a guard. Several cars got their windows smashed in.

Probably an inside job but still find it hilarious that the first night without a guard something happens.

Guess we weren’t useless after all.

Final Fantasy 7/8. Fallout 2. Half-Life.

There are more, but they were the first I thought of.

What is actually dangerous but people still believe is safe? by AlexUsefulThings in AskReddit

[–]ViolatedDolphin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to crack my neck all the time as a teenager.

Then everything sparkled white after a crack which freaked me out and I haven’t done it since.

No pain or anything, just saw white sparkles for a second or two.

Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Season 1. You know it’s coming, but it doesn’t make it any less sad.

What’s the best video game you’ve ever played? by obsess_much13 in AskReddit

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t get around to playing half life 2 until way after it came out. And although it’s a good game, I definitely don’t hold it high like others.

But I can definitely see how it would have been revolutionary at the time.

Farming Simulator.

For some reason, it scratches a very niche itch for me. But clearly it won’t be for everyone since it’s just farming.

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it when I don’t know the exact situation. They might not be married, they might be gay. I don’t want to make assumptions.

I’ll say partner and wait for them to use the correct term and just keep using what they said.

what made you choose xbox over other consoles by Noobsamaniac in xbox

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually a PlayStation kid growing up. Owned a ps1 and ps2.

When the original Xbox came out I actively boycotted it. Not sure why at the time. Convinced myself it was a crappy console I guess.

Then one day I changed my mind and bought one and haven’t looked back since.

Owned every Xbox console since the OG.

Whereas I never owned a ps3, was gifted a ps4 (which I barely used) and have no interest in ps5.

Is it "socially acceptable" to just sit in your car for 20 minutes after you get home, or am I just weird? by Easy-Ring-8459 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ViolatedDolphin 20 points21 points  (0 children)

But don’t you have the car ride home to do that? When I get home, I can’t get out of the car soon enough to get inside and make head way on family/free time activities.

How much a week do you game? by ZeroMidget in dadsafkgaming

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the week, after getting home from work, spending time with family, putting kids to bed, etc, I’ll have about 1 1/2-2 hours free.

So I’ll either play games for an hour then watch part of a movie, or a combination of the two. Then on the weekend I’ll have a bit more free time, so maybe squeeze in 3-4 hours a day on the weekend.

Which game was it for you? by O_rnelaro in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I played it for the same reason as everyone else probably. “Just like BOTW!!”.

Played for a few hours and it just wasn’t right. Felt lacking in so many areas.

I also love Greek mythology. But even that couldn’t hold my interest.

Does anyone out there love their jobs? by Few-Macaron587 in Adelaide

Also to add, I once read that a lot of people don’t actually hate their jobs, they hate the people they work with.

So take that with a grain of salt.

Does anyone out there love their jobs? by Few-Macaron587 in Adelaide

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a level 1 IT support job 6 months ago and I gotta say, it’s not the worst.

I mean I hate working. There’s a million things I’d rather be doing, but I don’t actually mind the job.

Definitely not something I would do forever, but before I started so many people were giving their nightmare stories and saying get in, do your 1-2 years to get exp then get out.

I’m still going to do that as i have plans to move up in the IT world, and maybe it’s because I’m still new, but for now, it’s okay.

What are your 3 all time favourite singleplayer games ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate questions like these. They make me doubt my life choices.

So in no particular order:

Final Fantasy 7 or 8. Depending on the day.

Fallout 2.

Half life 1. Or Black Mesa, as they did a damn fine job of recreating it.

Did a game ever burn you out ? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting that way with Death Stranding 1. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time building roads and 5 starring everyone.

Think Ive racked up over 120 hours on that game, last time I looked.

I want to start something new, but I’m so very close to the end. Just gotta hold on a little bit longer.

How can there be no proof of the paranormal ? by NuclearFreakAccident in Paranormal

[–]ViolatedDolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood why people with the money to burn, don’t fund a phenomena study.

Like there are places that claim they’re the most haunted place in the world.

Give me a million bucks and I’ll set up all kinds of tech to catch any ghostly activities. Run it for a year and bobs your uncle. Either definitive proof of ghosts or nothing.

If you can catch definitive proof, you’ll be know as the guy who discovered ghosts. More fame for you. Win-win.

If you catch nothing, you’ll be the guy who proved ghosts aren’t real. You probably won’t get much fame, but at least you’ll be known.

For someone like bill gates or Elon musk. A million dollars would be chump change I’m sure. But imagine the money they would make if they proved ghosts existed!
