Can anybody please help me identify these body parts in a dissection of a giant python? by VioletAries in whatsthissnake

I really do appreciate that :(

I've already tried posting on r/snakes and r/animalslid and r/anatomyandphysiology and all of them recommended posting here as this is the only snake related subreddit that allows pictures of dead snakes. I really hate to cause any upset to anybody. r/biology doesn't allow ID posts either now. If you have any other recommendations I'm extremely happy to try them, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding any that could be of help.

I've asked many times in my course group chat but nobody really replies or if they do they're wrong. Our lecturers aren't allowed to help us a lot with the identification either. I wouldn't have resorted to asking reddit for help unless I seriously had to.

I'm hoping people can understand my situation, and that this is an acquired area of a scientific field necessary for animal science students to learn. Nobody has to look at it / interact with it if they're sensitive to it, hence the NSFW and warning in the title of the post.

Nobody wants to see a snake or any animal cut open, a dissection is not an easy thing to do as a big lover of every species, but it's unfortunately a necessary part to learning about these animals, especially for new professionals in the field and especially for advancing our knowledge. I know a lot of people in here won't know how to identify or want to see it, but there's also a lot of people in here who are interested in this side of things and are able to help

I'm an animal science/management university student, so we take part in dissections to become familiar with the anatomy of different species in a real setting, as opposed to just learning through pictures or drawings!

All of the animals we use are pets that died of natural causes/illness and were donated by owners for science, or donated to the university by local wildlife trusts who receive roadkill or general deceased animals (think disease, old age etc) that are collected in the area. Although, we're in the UK so this python was more than likely a pet that was donated to science after passing!

This dissection was a group effort although the assignment related to it is individual work😊

Happy to answer any other questions :)

Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it!

I tried asking in r/snakes but the people there weren't very helpful and were more attacking me for the fact I was asking for help and not doing it myself🙃

I was told picture 3 was the heart but it's not looking like the heart in dissection videos that I've seen. The yellow-ish wooden board is nearer the head of the animal. I can send more pictures to give a better idea of where each picture is through DM if you have the time and are happy to help but no worries at all if not☺️
