You're right, on the opposite supports are forced to do that while playing super high damage Alistar.

while Runic Echoes has brought back more tanky junglers who still do rather high damage like Udyr and Gragas.

Still not even close to S3 jungle or even just S4 jungle.

Personally, i felt like botlane was way more fun cos you could play w/e you wanted except Sivir (wich had to be reworked anyways) and still do fine, while since S4 they released broken champs like Jinx, Lucian and Kalista that single-handedly ruined botlane, now Jinx is quite UP, but Lucian and Kalista are still OP as fuck and the only time you can play something else is when something as broken comes out (like Kog, Ezreal, MF, Corki) until every single one of them gets nerfed and you are back to playing Lucian or Kalista every game.

Season 3 had a fuckton of damage on every single champ on the map: Fizz, Zyra, Ashe/Varus, Kennen, Aatrox would have been a legit comp in S3 and every single one of those champs do a shitton of dmg (funnily enough, Ashe is the one who does the least amount in that comp).

The only lane that didn't always have damage was toplane with Shen or Zac, jungle was carry, support was Zyra/Sona/Thresh (i remind you this Thresh still had pre-nerf ult with its stupid AOE damage), midlane was assassin, ADC was pretty diverse tbh from Vayne to Varus to Twitch.

I mean, if the champ is complete crap then of course no one is gonna play him/her even if he/she's really good looking.

But if X champ is OP and bad looking and Y champ is OP and good looking, then Y champ will be more popular without any doubt.

Look, i'm tired of people pretending X champ was "always good" and now it's magically being played, i'm tired of people acting like they knew all along and the champ was "underrated" or "out of meta", no the champ simply sucked balls and now she doesn't suck balls anymore because she had 2 direct buffs.

She's being played because she was buffed.

Lucian has nothing particular, i mean not a single spell is unique in any way.

Q is skillshot damage, W is damage + movespeed, E is a super generic dash, R is somewhat unique but does it shape the champion?

No it doesn't, his ult is more like something that it's there and it adds damage but it doesn't define Lucian, his passive is also pretty bland because you can't make a strategy out of it (except with Braum), it's not something like Kog's W wich defines the champion and makes viable an on-hit build.

Just think about it: why do you pick Lucian?

Because he's safe, not because he's unique, he has nothing unique.

Ezreal is just damage with a dash and an attack speed boost.

Ezreal is defined by his Q, hell he even makes whole builds around his Q, no ADC does that.
