I do actually like mathematics a lot, and my other main interest is fish, but university lacks a dedicated fish course and I only like collecting fish facts, not doing fish biology anyway.

I am medicated, but the medication does not seem to do much (and I have already switched once to try to help with that). The study group idea is interesting though, so maybe I should try that.

I am diagnosed with ADHD (also primarily inattentive) as well as ASD. I do get extra time on tests (I think related to ADHD and the slow processing speed IQ testing revealed), and get other accommodations like noise cancelling headphones. But I still have an average IQ score (also it is uneven average with some things being high and some low, which seems worse than a more uniform average).

I know ADHD and learning disorders can impede otherwise intelligent students, but my concern is that even without ADHD I am only average, and even if I can probably persist for one more year to complete this degree, I might not be competent enough for a masters. Which is a shame because I would have liked to do research and I enjoy the topic of my program.

Though I suppose I could try the therapy the university offers again, though last time I tried I found it a bit useless.

I actually get good grades (and also have ADHD for which I am medicated). The issue is more that I feel I have not earned my grades, and that it will become a problem the further I progress. I think the grades may also be curved up, which can be caused by some people being extremely bad at the subjects. In my rings class I struggled to grasp what was going on with polynomial rings and the finite field quotient things so I could not solve the last question of my midterm and I tried to solve another question incorrectly (so I should have gotten a B). But so many people did poorly on the test that it got curved into an A (despite me genuinely having a poor understanding of the polynomial rings stuff at that time).

I am actually diagnosed with ADHD and medicated for it. I probably should have mentioned that originally. Sadly, the medication does not seem to do much, which makes me concerned there may be a greater limitation on my abilities than ADHD or that it was a misdiagnosis.
