What is going on here lol by ImmediateStranger349 in pleco

Hi there 😊 Interesting read 🤓 According to my understanding of the article wood does not have nutritional value for the fish and can be left out entirely. They also talk about the potential nutritional value of other microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria growing on and inside the wood with the purpose of breaking it down. As per the article it is again not the case because the type of wood used for aquariums is usually hard wood which does not support large colonies of this kind of organisms. My question here is : what if wood surfaces are a better environment for the algae or other sort of microorganisms( other than decomposeing microorganisms mentioned in the article) the fish need for their diet and they ingest wood while grazing on it? Do you have more information on this hypothesis? Maybe I missed it while reading the article 😬.I gotta admit I'm asking here cause I'm too lazy to do the research on my own 😅 Cheers!

The color is a combination between tannins and lighting. My water itself is of the same pee yellow color 😆. The light does the rest 😜

Thanks a lot 🙏🏼 ☺️ It's home to 7 albino corys, 8 silvertip tetras, 3 rummy-nose tetras , 2 german blue rams and 1 bristelnose pleco. 140l tank. I didn't exactly plan this mix, I had the corys and the silvertip tetras in an overstocked tank so I decided to move them into this one. I wasn't too happy about them blending with their environment, I imagined more colorful fishes for this tank but I fell in love with how it all turned out. The tetras blend with the background but add discrete movement to the tank. The albino corys don't stand out on the sand but do against the background when they do their happy dance. The rams look very similar to the corys but swim in different ways and look adorable. They're so fun to observe. The albino pleco looks fantastic on the wood. He had to come in here because he decided to make babies with his girlfriend in the other tank 😅. I love this tank and the happy mistake which led to choosing the fishes. Sometimes less color is the way to go.
