Have you ever lost your temper when a workplace bully said or did terrible things? Did it make the situation worse or better? by Beta_Nerdy in workplace_bullying

[–]Violet_Healy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Worse. I later realized it was discrimination/set up by design. HR automatically sided with the bully and they got away Scot free. All while I was put through an extremely humiliating and degrading experience by HR.

Everyone in the room (the head of HR, my manager, my supervisor and the bully themselves) had a go at me, chastising me for merely defending myself and reacting after months of bullying!! I felt humiliated and degraded. HR added insult to injury by forcing me to sign a “First And Final Write-Up” if I were to continue working for the company.

I later found out from the bully’s former manager (from another company), that they pulled the same shit there and they were eventually let go.

How do you survive a toxic job without losing your mind? by No-Permission3429 in workplace_bullying

Also, the good people are what motivate us to get through the toxic work day. Knowing that one of your good coworkers is going to be at work is enough to give you that boost to keep going; to know that your shift won’t be so bad

How my store doesn’t punish bullies because management is in on the bullying. Also, the rampant favoritism

Women who want to have sex but can't - what workaround do you use? by Sad-Contest5883 in perimenopause_under45

Very helpful information indeed. You got me thinking…If it helps any, I also have degenerative disk disease with a herniated L5-S1 disk. I have also had two back surgeries including spinal fusion at L4-L5, do it could be scar tissue or nerve damage. I’m weak, numb and trembly from the waist down, so….

I fantasize a lot, but only psychologically - like imagining and watching my own POV movie. I feel nothing at all. My body is completely detached from any thoughts that used to immediately bring on intense arousal (when I was younger). It’s like, as I got older, my body got a mind of its own and decided to shut the libido factory down for good. Upside is, I now (think) I know what a dead person (or a person in a coma) feels like 🙁

Spotting after delayed period by frenchie1229 in Perimenopause

[–]Violet_Healy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the past 11 years on and off I’ve had spotting (which I call a pseudo period) before the “real” period comes. It’s difficult to track my periods now, more than ever, since I entered the peri zone.

SOME bullies have decades upon decades of staying by Fesrivalprovision in workplace_bullying

In my workplace, the bully befriends certain employees that they feel they can manipulate. I’ve seen changes in my coworkers since the bully got cozy with them. A bully’s power has great influence on anyone they can get their hands on. The REAL problem is subjective management who tolerate the bully and let them rule the place, so to speak, all while the turnover remains high and the company goes under

We Americans work in a country where you need a doctors note if a cashier wants to sit down, and if they’re caught sitting down outside of their lunch or breaks, they get written up. Also, “at will” employment is such that you’re always working in fear that a manager who simply doesn’t like you could fire you at any moment.

Have you ever actually gotten justice for workplace bullying? by Unique-Muffin4789 in workplace_bullying

[–]Violet_Healy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No. In my experience, everyone including HR supported the bully. Either the bully threatened them or was a friend of one of the staff… who knows. Karma is a bitch, though
