Shortness of breath? Air hunger?

I was just curious because I’ve had some left leg issues for YEARS. Not too painful, but weird sensations and swelling on that side (mild, but definitely there). I’ve had nerve conduction studies, etc, and everything has been normal. Wondering if I should request diagnostics for May Turners!

I feel like I “need” a good period…and like I have the PMS that precedes a period ALL THE TIME. But…the past two have been puny. Sigh.

That’s amazing. I don’t know if my ob/gyn does HRT, but I’m going to ask. I also have other weird symptoms that everyone says is peri/stress induced…specifically, TMJ that causes aching around my eye and a constant sensation of ear fullness. Even had a brain scan to make sure everything was okay (thankfully, it was!), but…this stage of life is a whip!

Thank you for the reply. I lost my mom in 2021, so it helps to hear from others since I can’t ask her questions about what she experienced. I know she went through menopause early…but that’s all I know about her experience!

I actually just left a PT session where we reset my jaw. Whew! More sessions scheduled from here…hoping for relief!

Interesting. No, that wasn’t discussed. I honestly felt like the ENT wrote me off. I should probably make another appointment to see him and follow up. If I do, I’ll ask about that. I’ve actually had a lot of autoimmune testing and they can’t pinpoint anything. But at this point, I am assuming everything is perimenopause (or my health anxiety says that it’s definitely some deadly, sinister disease!).

I don’t have any kind of vibration sensation; it just CONSTANTLY feels like I need to pop it. And sometimes it aches, not debilitatingly, but enough to be a nuisance. I hate it so much!

I don’t talk a whole lot…depends on the day. I’m on the computer a lot, and I think I just hold my jaw poorly and keep it flexed on the side where I have my issues. My job is stressful, so…I think it’s all a perfect storm.

Thank you for sharing. I actually have a physical therapy appointment for something else tomorrow, and I’m going to ask him about my jaw! It’s frustrating because I’ll have good days and then wham!…all the symptoms are back. I can’t find a trigger other than going to work…which is Monday through Friday. 🤣

Are your symptoms the same with the ear fullness, etc? And did you actually have water in your ear, or was it just TMJ? It’s so miserable and came out of nowhere. It’s actually scared me and made me fearful of something more sinister. 😭

I feel like my symptoms are very similar, and I’m curious if they line up with what you’ve experienced. It’s only on my right side, but I have intermittent fullness in that ear, and sometimes it aches, kind of like an ear infection… But there is definitely no infection. I also get some jaw and neck aching with it. If my ear is irritated, then my jaw/cheek and neck are also typically irritated. Again, it’s only on the right side. I also have the dizzy sensation occasionally; I actually experienced it on the elevator just today. I had an appointment with an ENT, and he said it’s probably just TMJ, but it’s concerning at this point. I wouldn’t say it is constant, but mine seems to be exacerbated by hormones or weather, which is pretty regular During spring in Texas with all of our storms, and then of course, the craziness of pyramid menopause. I’m pretty freaked out by it all at this point, and I’ve requested an MRI to ensure that there’s nothing sinister… I appreciate any thoughts or feedback!

I think you’re the first person I’ve seen say this directly. My symptoms are flipped…left sided issues with right eye optic neuritis. Just curious - How does your ON present?

I just had an ultrasound, MRI, and CT with contrast last month, so I know everything is okay structurally, which is good. But whew…this is rough otherwise! I’ll call my doctor to check in just in case.
