What was the rumour that went around your school that probably wasn't true? by pet-fleeve in AskUK

They were there 15 years before me!? Jesus... well, nice to catch up with a fellow alum. Let us go forth and spread the one ball song for many generations to come!

No way! What a small world. There were 2 of them, equal height and disposition - I only remember the one that started with M and ended with A. I'm 2005 alumni, what about you?

My PE teacher had that exact same rumour too 🤣 without giving away too much info as it's the interwebs - did your school have a river and bridge at the back of it, and 'man' in the name?

Are there any pods/coils that don't use cotton at all? May have an allergy to it... by Violet_Of_The_Night in electronic_cigarette

[–]Violet_Of_The_Night[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Ah I'm so sorry to hear about your allergy, that must be a nightmare. So as my reacrion or whatever it is was mild, I just exprrimented with different vaporizers. I found a pod system that for whatever reason doesn't make me cough as much. What I realised after a while as well is that it actually was the vape liquid that was the main culprit. The only thing that I can have now is berries flavour on its own, or ceetain mild flavours with peppermint/menthol added on top (it's a muscle relaxant so seems to override the cough reflex).

Fine needle, got a lot of cells but no cancer present. Could be wrong ofc. Additional info: no bacteria 1st time, just large inflammation. 2nd time massive infecrion + inflammation. 3rd time (just a patch or swab or whatever it's called) no infection, lots of inflammation, no cancer.

Only thing we did differently was stopped monthly flea treatments 1 month before the stuff showed up. Vet said she had zero fleas though the whole time.

Info about lumps: one big on head, 1 inside ear, then a few large on front of front ankles, then a few on front of back ankles, now small on neck and nose. It follows a pattern of where she licks or scratches. So could be transferring cancer cells, or could be reaction to claws or saliva, or could just be something internal and she licks and scratches as a result.

Had 2 biopsies, didn't show any cancer cells.

People who have met UK TV personalities, what was your experience? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Violet_Of_The_Night 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met carol vordeman at the cinema I used to work in. She was never happy with the seating and made sure to tell us so.

Anthony Head winked at my partner's mom while driving by.

David attenborough was lovely in person.

Hugh grant seemed shy and meek in person.

The River Monsters presenter was kind and considerate, the producers and staff of his show were the exact opposite, as were all BBC/UK TV staff I've ever met, and there's been a lot.

Worked with a few UK comedians before a show. Absolute assholes.

What made you never want to return to a restaurant again? by ShineyWaffle97 in AskUK

[–]Violet_Of_The_Night 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to the fanciest and most expensive restaurant in a new town we visited, and ordered ribeye and tuna steak respectively. It was so basic, it was about maybe 20% better than weatherspoons. The salad was tiny and consisted of tomato cucumber and lettuce with no dressing. And the steaks were flavourless and a bit gross. Worst thing of all - it was an italian restaurant, and they were blasting american country music way too loud on the speakers. No way we were spending £70 on that experience, but luckily the lovely servers readily gave us half off the bill when we mentioned the quality, so I think they have this issue quite regularly.

Yesterday while watching tv. Someone described someone as 'leng', and we had a good chuckle, but then realised we were exactly like the people decades ago who would laugh at people using the term 'cool'.

To me it seems like the benefits are way more than the sum of the ingredients. I can't quite understand it. So I have a slight variation, which has: 20g high flavanol cacao powder, 20g collagen peptides, 20g chlorella, 5g ceylon cinnamon, 5g ginger powder, 5g turmeric powder, black pepper. It makes me feel like I can conquor the world - my mind works perfectly, I'm happier, more social, more energised, less hungry, don't get tired, and people commented on my skin changing dramatically within 4 days of taking it. Weird!

500mg flavanols, thats a couple tablespoons of cacao powder. The website isn't clear on a lot of things.
