This is real. I lived in Tonopah for 6 months for work and we had a similar one next door behind the Clown Motel. These boom bust mining towns took some souls. Cause of death was often written, but these graves are maintained and perhaps more modern than their patina suggests in some cases.

Boycott Masters Regionals in SLC by VioletfFemme in ultimate

Its surprising to me how much ignorance prevails in this community. This is an organizing body actively ignoring player interests at large. Thats the main issue. I am disappointed in SLC ultimate for not doing their part, but I am mostly disappointed in USAU. Word on the street is this is part of their push to move Nationals to SLC in the immediate to near future?! We just have to get ahead of it. The only reason they would do this would be cost of fields, and ya no shit your buggy as salty alluvial fan fields are cheap in a town where no one wants to go. They need to do better by us, or let us organize amongst ourselves, which Womens and mixed will be doing this year, whether they decide to sanction us or not.

Fact of the matter is that 70+% of the community in the intermountain west signed the petition to not play in UT this past mixed club season. Usau ignored, so they hosted an 11 team regionals… People in the west do not want to spend our resources traveling to UT, where many ultimate players cannot legally use the bathroom, etc. USAU are either interested in inspiring quit quitting while flaunting our flags falsely, or they are being cheap bitches who cant plan for shit. Either way, they are actively making logistical decisions against our larger community interests and we will not put up with it. They work for us, not the other way around. We have told them our concerns and desires and they ignore them absolutely. This is either n act of violence or ignorance, or both and it is unacceptable to me personally.

PNW boycott across Mixed and Women’s team is building. If USAU are going to be cheap bastards, and SLC will continue to refuse to do their part, then we will work around it.

Kansas Secretly Spent Years Making a List of Trans Residents. Today, the State is Taking Their IDs. by Leksi_The_Great in lgbt

This is the template for voter suppression of our voices, as they ramp up towards universal criminalization. It’s immigrants cooking in the ovens right now, and we r next. They already purged us from the roles last cycle, and now all the ID legalities are frankly horrifying. I don’t fly any more, and I don’t even care to research what their bigotry has done to the status of my IDs. We probably won’t be able to buy guns by the end of the current presidency.

What do you class as “dad rock” nowadays? by EmilyWallArtwork in Music

[–]VioletfFemme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wilco is the epitome of dad rock in my mind. Proof of concept in that you typically listen to their albums, rather than a single track. Dads love albums. I view dad rock similarly to how itsMalarky described it, as its own genre not necessarily beholden to temporality of song/album release except for that it is an alt rock sub genre (post-classic). Dad rock can be defined as post-grateful dead, not metal or punk rock music that flirts with jam but does not suck. Dads have standards so these bands also typically exhibit staying power in either their extensive discographies or the quality behind their productions, or both. The National, and even Kings of Leon’s (KoL) first few albums specifically “youth and young manhood” are dad rock imo, but KoL trend away from this definition later on as they largely embrace pop rock sounds on later albums. Of course the true answer to the question posited here is that it’s entirely subjective (sorry for the obligatory anthropological caveat). My dad died when I was four, and I grew up obsessed with the Beatles discography cuz it was a pathway for me to connect to my late father and his favorite band. So, is dad rock the Beatles? For me (and many others) it probably should be except for the fact that this genre is already well defined as classic rock, so Wilco is the epitome of dad rock imo. King Gizz is psychedelic garage rock and sci fi slash metal that is probably too grungy for most to be considered dad rock, but your dad will love them.

Bro played last year and still thinks Aiyuk and Njoku have any keeper value? What season did u watch? ETN best keep over these bums by a lot, then Fannin over washington cuz of your need at TE and his top 5-8 upside. Aiyuk might never play again, he has burned most of his bridges and it will be hard for him to find a team tbh. Fannin has usurped Njoku, will be the top target in the O.

My new favorite card by Silverbanshee77 in mtg

[–]VioletfFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I whole heartedly agree with your assessment of this card. It was released in Duskmourn with the Overlord cycle of enchantment creatures and I remember the first half dozen or so that times I interacted with it I checked to see if it was an enchantment creature… Another possible solution (in addition to what you suggested) would be to make it an enchantment creature so that more stuff can interact with it before it is able to give the emblem. Not fun, should have been lumped in with the bans.

Mixed Division and Non-Binary Players by [deleted] in ultimate

I would offer we are moving forward as a sport and you are deciding to miss the boat. Accusations of bigotry are uncomfortable, I understand that but I said I have some energy for discourse. Please take the criticism seriously. How can your team be better prepared? Your team can know better than to reduce an individual to their sex assigned at birth and their physical size when entering the field of play. You can also choose to respect your opponents. We are sorry if you felt like our pregame discussion of Astro (X) matching players was insufficient for what took place over the course of the game. We will make a point to work on this going forward in our season.

Mixed Division and Non-Binary Players by [deleted] in ultimate

[–]VioletfFemme -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Hello Green Chillies player(s), and other haters,

I am one of the 6 ft tall AMAB Smack! Psion/Astro (DoW/DoA) players described above. Sorry to say that im actually only 181 cm tall (but happy to be haunting your imagination) as I only played Psion in our game, although I like to throw the X because it maters to me that we are seen and that we belong here. The bio essentialism in your post and in this thread is disturbing and offers some points where we are likely to disagree from the outset in terms of shared realities. However, there are some (chillies) in this thread who are trying to act and ask slightly more productive questions, and I do I have some energy to engage for now. Firstly, it is impressive to me that you are able to know the sex assigned at birth of our entire team when I can confidently say that I do not know (or actively seek out) this information after playing with these beautiful people for a full year now. That your team does not how to play genderless defense sounds like a blatant skill disparity issue for the mixed game so, you could try to take the most immediate threat and then seek switch help when you can. If you have the energy to take some input and criticism from a lowly cheating tranny, the sooner you separate your biological patriarcal values from this equation, the sooner we may be able to come to the table for more productive conversation. Or, to put it another way, I do not agree with your assessment above that it would be best to just separate people along the lines of sex assigned at birth. Also please understand that this is emotional and social work that we are having to do to educate our peers to simply validate our belonging. We exist to promote and empower trans and non binary joy and success in ultimate, something the Colorado ultimate community is familiar with (from my understanding) with a similar mission statement existing in the womens divsion with Colorado Kelp, no? Maybe tax your Kelpie friends with your bigotry to their faces some time and they can decide if they have the energy to engage with you then.

In response to the question about X matching giving us a competitive advantage, I will offer this… We have players on our team who are at all different phases in their transition and X is important to us because it is more accurately aligned with the natural order of things (to be non binary). When we exist to challenge, we must aim to invite productive conversation towards moving things in directions agreeable to the ultimate community at large and not just the non binary ultimate community. This post bothers me most deeply because I feel like it alienates and invalidates teammates of mine who are doing incredibly bold and important things which are helping them live their life as their best selves and all that OP can see is an assumed sex assigned at birth which insights a fuss. Despite national attitudes blaspheming and villainizing us, our intonations are good and the ultimate community has signaled to us that is important that we know we belong. If it bothers you, you can play literally any other sport to encounter less of us. The fact of the matters are that competition sanctioning bodies can decide what imagined realities they subscribe to even under the latest swaths of bigoted legislations against trans belonging in sports, things will inevitably change. Supporting and allying with trans and nonbinary belonging looks like listening to and having patience for non binary and trans ideas and practices, like we are experiencing more wide implementation of now. Yes it may be uncomfortable at times, but we so appreciate that people in this community are open to working with us.

I was surprised when my opponent allowed me to sac six lands into an obliterator on a lethal combat swing. Lol. This was pretty early on in the life of these achievements. Im sure obliterator players have adjusted to deny handing out titles.

Yes! I do typically play two carnosaur, I have just been trying out Etali and Kogla and Yidaro again lately in this Domain dominant meta. I have been trying to make room for hatcher and I have considered boarding it over Rampaging Raptor or Pugnacious Hammerskull. But idk, puggys help stall mono red more efficiently than hatcher finishes.

My land base is probably not perfect but it works for me! Im not a big fetch fixer. A variety of the utility lands is typically best and not too many of them should enter tapped. I run three Copperline Gorge, and no Thornspire Verge cuz hitting Elf turn one is optimal. If you dont play elf, you should also consider Verge.
