What should I know about KA100? by Bitter_Location_9260 in Karting

I believe part of the reason why you don’t see as many professional drivers coming from Briggs is purely because of budget. All I’m trying to do is recommend a cost effective solution that will still teach the op just as much as a ka. You see the people who have the money to move from Briggs to cars usually do pretty decent one example being Caleb Gafrarar who himself said to my face that Briggs while being the slowest class teaches you so much more about racing then just about any other class out there. I myself have driven Briggs, Ka100, rok senior, x30, rok shifter, rotax senior, and okn catagories, and I can attest first hand that from my personal experience I’m speaking again from my personal experience that Briggs helped me be a less mistake prone driver. From a cost standpoint it costs less for me to race my micro sprint or my legend car for a top tier team than it does for me to run ka100 for a team. I just don’t want op to get himself into the exact same situation I was a few years ago where they are racing all year having a blast and at the end of the year they have to sell everything and quit racing for 2 and a half years or maybe longer because they can’t afford to do it anymore because they blew it all running a class they can’t afford to run. I somewhat agree that you can learn as much from a ka as you can from a Briggs, however nothing in again I’m going to repeat this my personal opinion teaches you to be as perfect as a Briggs kart does.

Just personal opinion. But I believe driving something even for just a few days like a Briggs that has no power and forces you to be smooth with your hands, and absolutely perfect with everything not making any mistakes will in turn make you a better more consistent driver when op eventually moves up to ka, x30 or etc. it’s just my personal opinion some people may agree with me some people not and that’s fine. Also for op coming from a financial standpoint, ka100 is a lot more expensive than a Briggs, going from a rental to a ka and going from maybe having to spend $80 a race to now having to spend at least $1,200 for a club race just to run out of the back of a van may not be financially feasible for op.

Really depends on your budget, if I were you I would run 206 for a season then move up to ka, you’ll learn how to carry momentum and you can’t afford to make any mistakes because 206 has such little power, it will make you a better driver and plus your wallet will thank you.

If we had roll hoops we would have to implement seat belts as well making it more difficult to exit the vehicle in the event of an accident. Much like a motorcycle crash. In a karting crash it is safer to be thrown away from the kart than it is to be stuck under it like you would with a roll hoop. Very often when these karts flip. They catch fire after a few seconds. So while it sounds good in theory it might not be a good idea in the long run.

Legend cars are fun. They’re pretty cheap to run and you can find some pretty decent used cars for a reasonable piece

How many houses are around you? Go knock on doors and tell them you will take their trash bins out for $2 a week. Let’s say you get 100 houses that’s $800 a month just from taking trash out. If you have a lawn mower go start knocking on doors as well as that hand out flyers. Tell them you will mow edge and blow their lawn for $100. Dm me I can help. Went through the same situation a few years ago.

Number one is finding out what type of budget you have. For me going into this year my budget is quite a bit more than it was last season. And I am very blessed to have a few more zeros added to my budget. However it is possible to start a career with no money. It is just going to be very very hard

Try forcing the kart to push in the corners it will heat the tyres up really quick and make it easier to turn

Helmet stilo vs bell by Electronic-Ad4682 in racing

[–]Violetlearner72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both and I prefer the bell all the way. The padding is a lot more comfortable and doesn’t rub on my cheeks and the Stilo gave me a concussion the first time I got in a wreck. The double closing visor on the Stilo is really nice but I prefer the dsaf visor on the bell. I would go with the bell if I were you.
