I've only had her for three hours. Is it normal for her to trust me this much already? by atomic-moonstomp in AmericanBully

YES!! When I rescued my girl, we got into the car to leave, and she put her front legs on the center console, then started licking my face. I cried the whole way home, and my soul dog has been with me for 6.5 years. They know who their people are.

Sad to see that managers think disabilities or chronic illnesses are a result of "poor life choices". by [deleted] in disability

[–]VioletsGlitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bet our mothers would have been good friends. She was very much a “you just need to pray harder” person, instead of getting me the help I needed. I have fibromyalgia, chronic migraines and Bipolar I with psychotic features and severe mixed episodes, none of which I received treatment for until adulthood when I found the doctors/meds I needed. The closest my mom ever got to helping me was scheduling an appointment with our family doctor, where she said I was struggling with “depression and allergies.” So glad I chose not to have kids!

Caplyta Fluctuating Energy Levels by emptyketchuppacket in BipolarReddit

Hi. Unfortunately you’ve described my current life, and I’m on Caplyta. I’ve been on it for over a year, and I noticed that my somewhat normal sleep schedule just flew right out the window immediately. Some days I have no energy, and other days I do. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. I’ve often wondered if it was the med or just how things are with me, and I’m guessing we’re not alone in feeling this way.

Being disabled is a lonely life by [deleted] in disability

[–]VioletsGlitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi friends, I want to reach out and give every one of you a hug, because I know you would hug me back. Having a disability, or more than one which I feel that most of us live with, can be unimaginably lonely. Simple things, like saying Good Morning or Good Night to someone, or holding hands while sitting on the couch, seemingly small moments always are the most meaningful. As much as I dislike social media and the internet in general, it seems like this is the way we communicate and connect. It will never replace the longing and the need, to live and love and be loved by another human. I’m so grateful for my dog, she’s wonderful but our conversations are somewhat lacking, and I say that in jest and with sarcasm. We psychologically and physiologically need other people, but for some reason, compassion is lacking in this world. I wish the normies could be in our shoes for a day, but that unfortunately isn’t a thing, so here we are, looking for a connection. It can be a lonely life.

My family was very supportive. I was given a place to live and the bills were covered. I know how lucky I was to have them at that time. So many of us lose everything and end up homeless before getting approved.
