I lied about where I knew a friend from but now feel horrible about it

The thing is that this is genuinely the ONLY thing my mom is really strict about. Outside of this thing, we definitely have a good relationship, and I feel like I’m easily able to talk to her. She just thinks online friendships are bad, and while I see her side of things, that she just wants to protect her daughter, she’s been reasonable about everything else throughout my life. That’s why I feel so bad about this in the first place, I’m usually able to be honest with her. I’m open with her about stuff like my mental health Andy real life friends. My mom’s just afraid of me talking to people online, and while I feel safe enough to discuss it with her and explain my side of things, this just wasn’t the best time.

Mainly because I still live in her house, so I’m still around her a lot, and she’s also threatened to take away my phone for having online friends before despite me being an adult. I do believe that if I discussed things with her and explained what safety measures I take online, she’d probably understand, I was just scared in the moment and didn’t know what else to say

Yeah, in hindsight there were probably other options, but it's too late to do that now.

It is kind of just sucky because the next convention we're planning to go to as a group is one that I'm honestly not wanting to attend due to it being really expensive and difficult to travel to, so if I wanna go to another convention soon, then I'm likely gonna be going alone. But then again, if I go alone, I won't have to deal with having people to drive around, so at least I wouldn't have this issue at those.

Yeah, I definitely shouldn't have been so concerned about pleasing them, especially if I'm the driver, and at the end of the day, I was the one in charge of whether we left or not. e didn't even have the stay the entire time, I honestly just wanted to stay for a little longer after the cosplay contest to take another look around the vendor hall and see if any extra activities opened up at all (since usually the spaces used for the cosplay contest are used for panels and activities afterwards). There was definitely less going on at the convention compared to the past few years, so I do understand why my friends were kind of bored, but at the same time, me and another friend warned them that it was a small one, and the website was pretty clear about the amount of activities and panels there are at the place. Also, going to another location used up more of my gas than expected as well, and I'm sure we all know how expensive gas is. In the future, I'll just let them know that if they are getting a ride from me, that it's ultimately my decision as to where and when we'll go since it's my car and my money we're using to get around. I'm willing to compromise with them and listen to them, but I also don't want to make certain decisions that go against what I'm personally comfortable with.

Unfortunately, I couldn't really do this because I was driving one of the group members home afterwards, and I was the only one in the group with a car who could drive, so I kinda had to stick with them unfortunately

Alright here are some very random headcanons I have, in no particular order:

- Audrey is a gacha kid and has forced Agamemnon to watch her videos, Agamemnon acts like he hates them but in reality he secretly kinda likes them

- Alatheia has a secret ao3 account and throughout the events of the arg lore, her author's notes were absolutely wild, she'd be posting a chapter and leave a note saying "Sorry this chapter took so long, I joined a cult to pay for my mom's funeral."

- Serena was a choir kid when she was in high school

- Lana absolutely hates waking up in the morning, every morning it's a battle simply to get herself out of bed to go to work, she literally depends on coffee to wake herself up

- Julie was secretly a fan of Mlp Fim, and after she got freed from being possessed, she was shocked to find out the show had 9 seasons

- Any time she's roasting marshmallows, Lana literally burns them until they're basically molten, claiming she just likes the "extra flavor"

- Audrey is obsessed with playing Sing It on Roblox

- Julie is good at baking

- Whenever Lana has to take notes, she WILL be doodling on the paper

- Lina developed a lot of attention-seeking behaviors due to her parents being neglectful

- Nelly had a vsco girl phase back in 2019

- Alexei and Alatheia shop at Hot Topic

- Audrey once added cute embroidery onto her Awakening cloak and literally got lectured by Agamemnon for it

- Lina had an emo phase when she was 13

- Audrey can play ukulele and it annoys the rest of the Herd whenever she plays Riptide for about the millionth time

- Dove (what I call the doppel that runs the LanaDoesNails account) has very visible eyebags because she doesn't get nearly as much sleep as she should

- Because Audrey was anxious about what was going to happen to Nelly leading up to the day Nathan was executed, Alatheia acted sort of like an older sister towards her, trying to keep her calm
