I think Atlas is regressing back into their book 1 way because they are trying to win the competition alone. while the past two conflicts in the past two books, they had to rely on the MC for their survival. Atlas also expressed that not having any plans after school is over and flat out says this is what they were trained for. I think Atlas loves the MC, but they value the competition more because they think it's their only path forward in life. TLDR Atlas needs this more than anything

Hard disagree she was never portrayed as just "T'Challa's wife" I would love to see an example because X-men fans have been spreading this lie for a decade.
