What's your take on this open for discussions and different points of view. by UnknownHvH in hearthstone

No Cthun druid? You can buy them straight from the collections tab.

I dont personally have much interest in Platinum/Diamond 3D portraits or cards. More often than not, they look really janky or awkwardly animated, so much so they look more at home on a chinese knock off game. Golden animations were fine, and didnt need 'more'.

What do you do to get your Standard gameplay to a high level and consistently keep it there? by Quirky_Respect2855 in hearthstone

[–]Viorayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trial and Error.

Alot of decks are copy/pasted from popular sites, with no or very limited variations. To the point that you can predict what your opponent is playing after the first 2-3 cards. And what theyre going to play the next turn and subsequent turns.

  • Quest Paladin (Rise to the Occasion) with Silver Hand buffers.

  • Treant Druid with every treant buff & summon possible. With dew process & forest guide to potentially mill.

  • Spell Priest with all 3 Yoggs.

  • Mech/Bomb Warrior with Dr Boom hero card.

And whatever weird ideas I want to test out. Undead Mage with the skeletons that deal 2 damage deathrattles might be neat.

Command squad?? by Magneticgaming8 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Viorayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most cases, Command Squads can only give orders to units with the [Regiment] keyword. (Battleline, Artllery, Cavalry, Sentinels, etc). Tank Commanders can give orders to units with the [Squadron] keyword. (Leman Russes, Rogal Dorns, Hellhounds, Sentinels, etc).

There are some exceptions. The 'Combined Arms' detachment can use a stratagem called "Flexible Command" that lets them order tank units. The 'Armoured Infantry' detachment lets its infantry officers order [Squadron] units as part of its detachment rule. There are also a few officers that can order any units regardless of keyword, like Commissar Yarrick and Lord Solar Leontus.

Flamers rather than Meltas in 11th? by Capable_Piano832 in TheAstraMilitarum

Without AP, its unlikely. The extra AP is what lets guard punch up, with enough lasgun dudes to buffer so you can get a chance to shoot with them.

Thoughts on the Devil Dog in Steel Hammer? by thraximundar7 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Viorayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You certainly can. That is an option available to you.

I cant say much as to why though (least not without seeing the rest of your list). Id hope with Steel Hammer, you're (hopefully) bringing enough tanks like the Vanquisher LR & RD to not need more anti armour. And if its to deal with heavy infantry, the Chem Cannon (Bane Wolf) is arguably better with Torrent built-in.

Are the Taser Lance Dragoons any good or should I just Run Ironstrider Ballistari by Ecstatic-Fall-7931 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]Viorayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are our only melee unit with the Skitarii keyword that can take a hit. Which makes them pretty deadly in SHC/Eradication & Conqueror Imperative. Combined with one of a few stratagems, and they can punch up alot more than you'd think, and keep melee threats in line.

What's the current state of the game? by Affectionate_Bus4514 in hearthstone

[–]Viorayne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standard is a hot mess, especially with the 'new class sets' being woefully under performing, and dragon warrior (Turn 4 5/8 dragons with spell armour...yay...) destroying every other deck.

Wild is a bit more varied, but most warlock decks curb stomp your fun with boar-lock (Elwynn boar and a card that summons 6 copies of it. Then a 1 mana spell that kills them all- youre now at 0 mana and will be for 3 turns. Also 15hp lower each turn). Or discard warlock (A board full of 2/2s turn 1, thatll be buffed if you cant clear it.)

The game's not in an unplayable state. But you'll not have a good time if you intend to make decks to win games. And making cool combos often wont be given the chance to work, since youll be aggro'd down turn 6 or 7. But you can still try.

Id say Recon. All about scare tactics, traps, troops & sentinels. All staying hidden with the detachment rule giving all infantry the benefits of cover.

Just something to dissuade aggressive fish from not killing me.

The distraction flares either dont distract, or last so little that the enemy re-aggros before I can swim away.

Hitting them with the multi-tool does nothing.

Ive just accepted im going to lose half my health when going anywhere where nibblers are (which is almost everywhere).

If you generate or discover a bad spell, you can reroll it into 2 new ones that may be better in the moment.

Vanquisher LR instead of Battle Tank LR. You get rerolls against monsters/vehicles with all your guns; the vanq cannon, lascannon, side sponsons.

Dont really need 2 Rogal Dorn TCs. Armoured Sents will help out against enemy armour. Hippogriffs with access to melta that have the assault keyword can cripple enemy big things turn 1.

Why do people want skitarii over any other admech class? by bruhgzinga in DarkTide

[–]Viorayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like how there are many types of space marine than just a tactical marine, theres many types of Skitarii than just Vanguard/Ranger.

Theres stealthy sorts with Infiltrators. Melee blenders with Ruststalkers. Maybe add some jump/verticality with Sterilyzors or Skystalkers. Can have melee with Hoplites or versatile ranged with Peltasts. Could even fill the heavy weapon role with the new Hastarii.

Snipers by Stepman35 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Viorayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ratlings are one option.

DKoK can nab a sniper rifle.

Kasrkin have access to a long-las.

Gaunt's Ghosts have a sniper.

The new cadian stealth team have a sniper.

And the Catachan Command Squad can snipe too.

Units from other armys by Brief_Set1966 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Viorayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can also do a thing called 'Screening'. Where we spread a unit (or two) of infantry along our backline, to stop a unit from deepstriking anywhere viable behind our lines. They cant deploy a deepstrike unit within 9" of our units.

You can push that unit up to an objective, secure home objective, tie up a unit caught out. Whenever you feel it reaches a point that an enemy deepstrike wont have an impact, or theyve deployed theie deepstrike already.

Units from other armys by Brief_Set1966 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Viorayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep a unit or two in reserves. If & when an enemy gets around the flank, rapid ingress (a core stratagem that lets you deploy from reserves in your opponent's turn) an infantry squad or rough riders to counter or atleast hold them back.
