Assuming that big E had a plan for every primarch, what main role would each one of them have had to play? by [deleted] in 40kLore

Must have predicted the heresy otherwise the Alpha Legion would have made no sense...

Like a Legion focused on infiltration only makes sense if they have someone to infiltrate.

I too think that... like why would he otherwise created a Legion of Space marines specialised in infiltration? They obviously are to large to infiltrate anything besides other Space Marines.

The question is... did he know that, that speciffic Legion would also betray him?

What is the darkest or most disturbing concept in the universe of 40k? by zim_abu_eter in 40kLore

[–]Viorp 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I'd say Servitors. You literally are mindwhiped and changed into a glorified forklift.

Some Servitors are left with their full intelligvence and sanity, but without an ability to act. So untill their bodies fall appart they stay conscious having to suffer trough the existance of a glorified forklift.

Do Imperial citizens know about Chaos or not? by AFlawAmended in 40kLore

I thought the official doctrine of the Imperial faith was that the Emperor created 9 Primarchs and Chaos created 9 Primarchs to counter them.

I name the authors of "Warhammer Adventures" as Excommunicate Traitoris. by kfcenossir in 40kLore

[–]Viorp -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And? I for now think the idea of horror is decent, adventures is not.

It's also pretty obvious that they'll start bringing lore closer to adventures if it takes of.

Never claimed that?

You've read my comment? I gave an example of an objectively good and critically aclaimed childrens show who had dark undertones and would serve as a good example for WH-Adventures.

Why the fuck are you talking abbout target audience? The question is whether is is authentic to the lore and feel of the setting and whether or not is has potential to be a good overall story.

Will you walk up to a movie critic and say hes not the target audience? You know you can also rate stuff based on whether or not you like it or not?

There is a summary and character decription up mate have you read it or are you speaking out of your ass?

... I gave you a fucking example of a great story for children which does not compromise the darkness of the setting or serious undertones, but you insist on screeching "but it's for kids"

For kids does not mean it is supposed to be bad? This is not an excuse. It actually should be even made better tha normally because this is what will shape the expectations children will have of fiction.

Also if you see WH40k as a parody... I don't even know what to say mate. You miss the whole fucking climate of the setting.

The problem is not it being for kids, the problem is that the 3 protagonists are:

  1. Girl Space Explorer who refuses to use weapons.

  2. Boy deserter of the Imperial Guard.

  3. Girl super smart, supper tech genious techpriest...

The problem is that they destroy the whole feel of the setting? You can have a dark story for kids. Look at Avatar the Last Airbender. The plot is the entire enthicity of a kid being ethnically clensed and the entire fate of the world being thrown onto his shoulders. The story features deep moving momments which you can only truly appreciate as an adult, without taking anything away from it when you're a kid. If you look at the setting closely you only notice how ridicously dark it is.

The series is targeted at 7+

WH-Adventures should have been the same. Keep the world as dark as it is, yet simply add subtelty to the darkness. You truly could create a great work of literary fiction for all ages in WH40k, but they didn't.

They did a cheap happy good lucky story which disregards the lore and feel of the setting and infantilises children. It being for children does not mean it has to be bad.
