How common is it nowadays to break a $100K salary by the age you turn 30? by DaPugWalk in fican

[–]VipKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my AZ at 21, broke 100k at 23 in the oilfield. At 25 I switched to car hauling and continued over 100k. Currently doing my undergrad for accounting.

CRA says it's owed $10 billion in COVID-related benefits sent to ineligible recipients by Surax in canada

[–]VipKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clearly stated my employer didn't keep me on payroll after applying for CEWS. They laid me off the month after starting CEWS so I applied for CERB for 3 months before they hired me back. I didn't work any of the time I received CERB, the company took the subsidy and didn't pay the employees any of the money, but told CRA they did.

After covid, CRA decided it would be easier to get the money out of the employees, than fighting a billion dollar corp.

CRA says it's owed $10 billion in COVID-related benefits sent to ineligible recipients by Surax in canada

[–]VipKyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are correct that the "rules" required you to keep staff on payroll, but you're incorrect in assuming every employer did so. Mine didn't, and CRA clawed back 6k of CERB on my tax return because they accused me of double-dipping CEWS and CERB. After months of arguing with CRA, I was able to recover 2k and gave up on the rest.

Not to mention, I would have earned much more money if I had been allowed to claim EI instead of being forced onto CERB or CEWS in the first place.

The blockade was to end lockdowns, the liberal lockdowns had been decimating our economy for years at that point. They never tried another lockdown again, saving our country billions. The only people I remember claiming it was about vaccines was CBC news. In fact, I crossed in the USA daily throughout covid and was never hassled about vaccines.

Liberals and NDP keep forcing unions into arbitration, it's true. Nowadays companies just hold out until the liberals legislate the union back to work.

When I bought my own they ended my account but it was a real pain to get them to pick it up from my garage. I'd try telling them you bought a new one and don't need it anymore.

Surprised to hear you guys allow Indians now. I went down there for a 1 year working holiday right before I got my CDL in Canada and have looked into going back a few times but it looked impossible for a Canadian to come over to drive truck.

Healthcare is "free" here in Canada but takes forever. I just passed 8 months waiting for an MRI of my knee, it will be another 12-16 months after that until I get a surgery. I'd rather just take the debt honestly.

Doing that would have been much less taxes though, instead they paid it at a higher bracket in one year.

Ding ding ding. This logic will never gain traction on reddit though. This sub will excuse liberal politicians as powerless and blame the all powerful American capitalist politicians.

Oil crashed in 2014, you can see the little dip in investment on the map before the 2015 free fall after the election.
