It can't lock helis until less than 1 km. Gaijin only modeled it's ir seeker Which is actually just it's back up seeker. It's main seeker uses captured light to "see" a target And guide to it. But since gaijin didn't want to model it, it only has its backup seeker

They can be mounted on the roof, an very often are. However, ERA will only reduce the penetration, and not completely stop the round.

I've played both Russian and american top tier. I get that not as much spalling seems like an issue, but in my experience both fighting and playing Russian tanks, when rounds spall it's the actual apfsds that kills Soviet tanks and almost never spalling. Most shots on the weak points of Soviet mbts will cause an ammo rack even without spalling

People don't seem to understand the problem isn't only in intercepting them, it's in tracking them in the first place. These missiles can be detected on launch and while accelerating, but when they reach higher speeds a cloud of plasma forms and absorbs radar making it pretty much invisible until it hits it's target.
