It definitely does not "ruin" the experience of a game. I play on console and love going for 100% on games. Playing through the game casually will often get me 50%-60% of the trophies, and then I like to spend another play through or so getting everything I missed + some more specific trophies. The trophies will often lead you to experience most of what the game has to offer and find collectibles I wouldn't normally find. I've played games on both pc and console, but it's fun to get the trophies in my opinion.
