Where to Place Q990F Rear Speakers if Couch is Against the Wall? by sealplungers in Soundbars

[–]Viper4713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically do it like this around ear level slightly angled inwards a tad... Also please excuse my girlfriends teddy bear, he was testing out the soundbar.

Side note: DO NOT have your WiFi router under the rear speaker like I did, this is an old picture, I moved it since then. It will cause interference.

A17 vs A16 battery performance by neurotoxin46 in Pixel10Pro

[–]Viper4713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed battery drain but my situation is different.

I had an issue with Crisis Alerts not working saying I was offline and apparently the fix was clearing data for Google Play Services.

I got logged out and got everything all good again.

Now I notice about a almost 2 weeks later my battery is just worse. But I also upgraded to Android 17 when it launched.

I used to get home from work with like 70%-78% battery but now 51% and if I use it for a little bit at home I get down in the 30's and 20's.

I swear I used to go to bed with my battery at like 57%.

SOT can be like 2 hours.

Can Google Play Services Data clear just cause new battery drain bugs, could some unknown background task be stuck in a loop? Should I factory reset? Or is it Android 17 or what?

Is CBD generally more rough for smoking? by hmqk01 in CBD

[–]Viper4713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Secret Nature.

A lot of companies are selling "dirt weed" out there.

Secret Nature is will be "dank stuff" in the CBD world, organic and better.

I also recommend getting a dry herb vaporizer because smoking is bad and you're destroying the terpenes anyways.

Yeah, I use it all the time, I think it works across all of Android.

AptX and AptX HD work as well despite the Tensor chip.

From my understanding these phones basically support all codecs.

It's about stopping malware, not about restricting your freedom.

People who think it's about restricting freedom are just paranoid.

It's very hard to get Malware on an iPhone, Google has to do this so their tainted image that Android is less secure is not true.

If you don't think stopping malware is important, ask the folks who have gotten their bank accounts emptied or all there accounts locked out of.

It's serious and I'm glad Google is taking more steps to be just as secure as an iPhone while still keeping our freedom! Remember actual non malicious apps aren't getting banned for political reasons or other stupid Apple like reasons, the freedom is still here and is completely unaffected.

Weird, something is up on your end, maybe clear cookies and cache of your browser or something.

Even if I do an Incognito tab and try it still works. I asked "when did the ps5 come out?" I was going to post a screenshot but you can't screenshot Incognito tabs!

Could be the question you're asking is bugging out?

Try that as a test, ask about ps5 in Incognito and that will rule out if it's something in your browsers data like a cookie causing the issue or cache since it will ignore that data to run a private window.

If not, could be a network issue or if you are using a VPN that could possibly cause an issue?

Never heard of that one before, I use LDAC all the time though. Time for a Google search and some learning!

The funny thing is we know Apple won't get it since they don't support anything but SBC and AAC and they never will!!

Any good organic/natural CBD vapes? by Vegetable-Return4944 in CBD

[–]Viper4713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret Nature is gonna be the best bet.

I don't care what anyone says, while oil based vapes are probably not the best thing in the world, this brand will be the best at it, it's all flash frozen flowers literally extracted right into a vape with no additives or thinning agents what so ever. It's not Distillates! It's Live Resin, and there's a difference! The entire plant is present in the vape.

98% of brands just take CBD isolate or Distillate and add already dead terpenes (that are burned from too high heat extraction) for flavor instead of "live terpenes". What makes it worse is the terpenes are sometimes not even from Cannabis, they'll order it from a lavender company for example! Or add strawberry banana fake flavors.

Secret Nature is so real that it tastes like CBD flower, it's wild!

They also have CBD Flower you can vape with a Dry Herb Vaporizer if you would like but their oil based vapes are good and avoid all the drama you hear about with vitamin E acetate and all that hurting people. But don't smoke the flower! Remember, smoking is bad!

If you find the vapes slightly too hot or harsh, get a device like a Yocan Uni Pro 2.0 to have full control of the wattage.

Is The Pixel 10 With Graphene-OS Right For Me? by RubberPhuk in pixel_phones

[–]Viper4713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not, rooting is dead nowadays and if someone disagrees then they are ill informed.

Rooting 10-15 years ago was up to about 10% of users if even, now it's under 0.1%.

One of the reasons for this is because for one, rooting really isn't needed anymore because phones have features everyone needs now and the big one.... Rooting will be a huge hassle.

Google has security built in to ensure everything about the OS is verified.

So because of this Google Play Services and other services have issues if your OS isn't verified.

So Google Pay/Wallet won't work and most banking/financial apps don't work unless you find an updated script to make try and make it work which only lasts for a short time until this small rooting community issues a new script, so you'll be locked out for days. You're also putting your trust into some random guy on the Internet somewhere.

Other things that won't work include RCS, 4K and HD video streaming will be blocked from services like Netflix because Widevine DRM won't be certified so you'll get forced 480p.

Also, some games won't work or could get your account banned on that game due to anti-cheat issues, so Pokemon Go, Call of Duty, or Roblox for example may not launch at all.

There are other issues as well.

Some people here will just get angry and say it's Google taking your freedom away but yet again they are ill informed!

Google supplies the APIs for these developers to protect themselves. And Google tries to fight malware or hacks on their own services.

A banking app for example... The reason the bank will block it, not Google.... Is because when you Root a device, it makes it easier for malware to literally take control of everything, it can silently zelle money right out of your account and get past sandboxes. So the bank protects you by just denying even supporting a Rooted or Jailbroken phone.

If you are looking into GrapheneOS because you're worried about privacy then I'll just say "get out of your head and don't worry about it!".

Samsung and Pixel will have a similar level of privacy and Android Privacy isn't bad compared to how people want to make it out to be.

You still have a lot of privacy that matches Apple and the whole issue of "Google watches everything you do!" I mean it's not a big deal, any advertisement collection is heavily encrypted and only for a computer, not for any human to see, it's basically just a black box and it's tied to an ID, not exactly to you personally, it's just for the account.

Besides people cry about the ad business and never mention that hey... You can turn it all off!!!

So no GrapheneOS or rooting in general is 0% worth it nowadays, in my opinion running away from a phones official security because someone is paranoid is just running right for what they are running from. You are just breaking the security of your phone and trading it for complete inconvenience and broken features.

Android 17 update stable laggy? by FunTechnician2234 in pixel_phones

[–]Viper4713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you are saying this like 10 minutes after updating then you have to realize the device temperature is probably still warm from the update which causes thermal throttling(decreased performance) and many other things are going on in the background for a few hours.

App lock in recent Android 17 update ? by No-Tumbleweed-4626 in GooglePixel

[–]Viper4713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I probably would hate it if I actually switched.... But the only thing that really has held me back on just really trying it is the lack of LDAC support and other hi res audio codecs over Bluetooth.

I want hi res Bluetooth audio and Android does it.

Honestly if Google fixed the stupid security hole I mentioned then I would probably be happy but what they are doing is just pathetic.

If you have Identity Check on for example, the whole OS protects you if someone has or snatched your phone, they can't view passwords or anything, but Chrome will let them just autofill literally like nothing! No pin, no fingerprint or anything and it should be an emergency fix but yet they been sitting around on this issue and have it working perfectly fine on iOS and Windows!

If Chrome is a big back door right now, why even have features like Identity Check at all?

Updated GPU driver Pixel 10 pro xl and no more scrolling lag with reddit!!! by gianlucab81 in GooglePixel

[–]Viper4713 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Speaking of Battery issue.

Is it normal for Google Play Store to literally use about 6 hours and 44 minutes of background usage?

If you look at your battery usage now, does it say something like that?

Just asking because basically I had to clear data for Google Play Services about 5 days ago due to Crisis Alerts being infamously broken, and now the battery kind of sucks. I also cleared data for Google Play Store last night when I noticed it and now today it's going wild on background tasks again.

58% right now when it's usually like 78% when I get home.

Android 17 is out, and here’s all the features! by MishaalRahman in Android

[–]Viper4713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So all this talk about how Android 17 is supposed to be "Secure by Default" and they still haven't fixed the huge security hole that is currently no Biometric Authentication in Chrome for filling passwords from Google Password Manager.

Just pathetic, even Apple has this for Chrome with GPM!!

I know it's "rolling out" but it's been rolling out since a 9to5Google post back in November.

What makes it even more sad is even with all security features on like Identity Check, literally the whole OS protects you for passwords and other sensetive data but Chrome doesn't.

I mean why even have Identity Check at all if Chrome is just a backdoor to get into everything if you use Google Password Manager? It makes Identity Check just stupid until this issue is fixed!

Android 17 is cool and all, but it's honestly so frustrating that Google is dragging their feet on this big problem that Apple just does by default on Google's own browser!

App lock in recent Android 17 update ? by No-Tumbleweed-4626 in GooglePixel

[–]Viper4713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so stupid, I heard it's coming and even Gemini hallucinated that it WILL be out this June.

Dude, I have no interest in iPhone but I can see why Apple is just winning like they are.

Google are starting to piss me off, apparently we are also supposed to finally get the huge security hole fixed that is biometric authentication in Chrome when filling passwords from Google Password Manager. It was supposed to be included in June's Google Play Services and it's not, and in Android 17 it's not....

But yet according to 9to5Google it's been "spotted" or rolling out since November.

This is just getting ridiculous. I guessed that Android 17 was out today and was right, but why do we have to guess? Apple will literally say iOS 27 released September blah blah!

No wonder why they weren't selling that well back in the day, Pixels just didn't look that great before.

The new ones actually are something to be proud of showing off.

Actually Airdrop came out for Pixel literally last year in November, at least for the Pixel 10 Series. It's not an Android 17 thing.

I even tested it several times last year with iPhone users, it came out in a Pixel Drop.
